I'd just like to point out to anyone considering buying these that you might be a lot better off buying passthrough powerline adapters - that's the ones with power sockets on the front, so plugging one in doesn't mean you lose the outlet. We probably all have way more electronic devices than we have wall sockets these days, so chances are you use extension cords. Powerline adapters don't perform very well in extension cords - and usually don't work at all in surge protected extension cords - so you're best off plugging them straight into the wall. If you have to unplug an extension cord to do that it means you're going to lose 4/5/6 sockets - with a passthrough adapter you can plug the powerline adapter straight into the wall then the extension cord into the powerline adapter and get the best performance from the powerline adapter without losing your extension cord.
Just a heads up from someone who learned this the hard way - love powerline adapters but the first pair I bought were not passthrough, I had to use them in extension cords because I didn't have enough sockets for everything otherwise and they performed really badly. Upgraded to a passthrough pair and never looked back!
Got a link to a discussion about it? Had a quick search and the few forum posts I read about it all basically said that of course all powerline adapters should work with any router, because they're essentially just extensions for ethernet cables, and any problems came down to setup and/or wiring issues. The performance of these depends massively on your house/flat/building's electronics. You could have different floors or even different rooms on different ring mains, in which case the adapters won't be able to see each other, and if your house is old or just badly wired there could be a lot of interference.
They should pair with any other powerline adapters from any manufacturer - I had a mixture of two different TP-Link models plus some Belkin ones at one point and there were no issues. Certainly two different models from the same manufacturer should be no problem. This is correct. The TP-Link product page is here - http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-5034_TL-PA4010KIT.html
And they're clearly marked as AV500/500mbps. Yet if you search for the EAN/barcode number (6935364096076) it seems that everywhere selling them, not just Argos, has them listed as 600mbps.
What router is that? I've got a Super Hub 2 that I've had problems with since I got it (it's dual band and the 2.4ghz network keeps cutting out - not a huge problem as most of my devices are 5ghz but it does mean I keep losing access to my wireless printer). Complained to Virgin once about it and they didn't seem to care - but my wi-fi is patchy in the back room (hence why I have powerline adapters!) so if complaining to them about that might get me a new router I'll give it a go...

Note that these are actually 500mbps rather than 600mpbs. this is confirmed by an Argos staff member response on the product page:
Hi,
I'm sorry for the confusion. To clarify, this TP-Link TL-PA4010KIT AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit is indeed 500Mbps and not 600.
I hope this helps!

These don't work with the sky hub

Why wouldn't they, it's just an ethernet connection?

they work with wired ethernet, so assuming the sky hub has wired ethernet....
been running a network with 5 or 6 of these on it for a good while, very stable. The apps they come with however, not particularly stable!
Remember to secure it with pairing or a password.
Also - these may be smaller but only one port and no mains passthrough so they hog a socket! The bigger ones have 2 or 3 ports and pass through so I prefer them.

Have you switched it off and then back on again? Also have you tried plugging it in?

By the way, I'm assuming this is 600Mb/s, not 600MB/s.

Also, they add the speed of the two adapters together, so really they are 300Mb/s each. There are a couple of other variables that can limit the throughput on these.

I was hell bent on buying one of these, for a desktop that was literally 3-4 metres away from the router, albeit in the next room with a brick wall in between, but then I complained to Virgin and they sent me one of their new(est) routers and everything's fine now. I'm getting WiFi literally everywhere in and around my house. So, if you think you've got blind spots or the connection is weak around the house, it's worth contacting your network provider. Saying that, there is no comparison to a wired connection and if you want it for streaming without the buffering this is a very good deal. Heat added.

I contacted Sky and they sent me a wireless booster but it still doesn't cover the blind spots. If I have two wireless boosters can I use both and would that work

The TL-PA4010KIT has a recieved a firmware update which changes the speed from 500mbps to 600mbps you can download it from here http://uk.tp-link.com/download/TL-PA4010KIT.html#Firmware you will need to update the firmware using the tpPLC tool. I did all 6 of mine tonight and they have upgraded to the 600mbps. I believe they have updated the TL-PA4010KIT to 600mbps out of the box depending on how old the stock is that the shop has. Anyone who has already got a PA4010 or who recieves the older 500mbps branded ones just needs to do the firmware update to upgrade to 600mbps

Bought some of these from somewhere else a few weeks back. My upstairs streaming went from impossible at 1080p to perfect. Anyone having issues streaming should try these as they work a treat.

I think these will work for some and not others, also depends on the wiring on your house.
I had 4 of these and had frequent drops in connection to the point they became unusable. Replaced with Edimax ones and no problems.

I already have a pair of TL-PA411KIT AV500 500 Mbps, can anyone tell me if these will link up with them? These have a different model number TL-PA4010.

Yes they should be fine, most home plugs conform to the same standard so you can even mix manufacturers, however they will always slow down to the slowest device in the network.

I bought them, they don't work with sky hub, it's a common problem with no resolution and plenty of cases on google.
