Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but if you've bought into the Sonos ecosystem this seems a good price for the Play:3

£219 for the black version. Just ordered one of these to create a stereo pair. Thanks for the heads-up

Great price, heat given. Play 5 also appears to be reduced. After a the 2nd gen white Play 5 but just CANNOT stand the black grill on it, just don't get why they didn't put a white or silver grill on the white ones. Even if they did a special edition all white one or something. :disappointed:

Funny, I've got 3 of those but never actually clicked that the white unit had a black grill. I kinda see your point, but it does look good.
isn't the play 3 the worst one ? reviews were saying it's on par with the 1, spend a little more and get a stereo pair of 1s maybe

I have 1's and 3's and I find the 3 significantly better than a 1 as a single speaker, especially in a larger room, but would agree a stereo pair of 1's sounds better again (although obviously more expensive)

The Play:1 is outstanding for the money and, at launch/review time I'd have argued the Play:3 wasn't worth the money. Since Trueplay tuning, however, it is much improved and sounds very good. They also make much better surround speakers when paired with a PLAYBAR.
It all depends on your budget. I'd take 2 x P1 over a single P3. But 2 x P3 is better, of course. 2 x P3 is better than a Gen 1 P5 but the Gen 2 P5 is a whole new level and hard to compare.
2 x P1 sound pretty good and don't take up much space, just can never be as full range as a larger unit.

John Lewis has priced matched - might be worth buying from them instead!

i prefer the P1 to P3, looks better and cheaper and sounds as good. i never tried it with trueplay however.

Trueplay works very well, highly recommend, just annoying you need to use an iPhone for it.
