Shimano m424 mtb spd pedals for £19.99 @ Decathlon. Have been looking to get some clip in pedals that work as normal pedals aswell and this is the cheapest I have found for these pedals.

Ive got some of these and as a clip in pedal, they're fine, but when wearing regular shoes (even my five tens ), they aren't big enough, making them a bit awkward to use.

Don't get these, pay an extra £5 for the b'twin 500 pedals at decathlon. These are rebranded wellgo pedals that cost £35 elsewhere. I have them on two bikes and they are really good with SPD clips or normal shoes

I agree that that the b'twin pedals look a better alternative for the rare non-clip use but I prefer the Shimano ones as they have clips on both sides so no messing about trying to engage the correct side.

Will they work with these?

The outer cage doesn't really make them suitable for riding without SPD's. The SPD clamps sit much higher than the cage so flat shoes will feel very dodgy on them. Fine for SPD's, no good for flats.

Small word of warning - I recently purchased these and my MTB shoes got properly stuck in them, so I sent them back and got some without the extra plastic surround.

These have gone up bought a few pairs at halfords the other year for £9 a pair (sold them off to keep the spd clips), much prefer the m520/m530/m540 pedals
