What's the difference between this and the scanfx one here?
Both appear to be oem versions if the drive. Just interested if anyone knows if they'd end up being the same thing. Price is similar but I'd prefer Scan as a retailer.
I've used these before, I bought my SM951 from them. No issues with either.

Decided to give this a whirl. For those of you that are worried about potential thermal throttling, I found this on amazon.
£15.03 delivered for a PCi adapter with an added heat sink of sorts. It is shipping from China, so if ordered now it should arrive at about the same time as the SSD itself. There is a more elegant solution available here, but I don't think it warrants over half the additional cost of the SSD itself.
Just some food for thought.

When I upgraded from HDD to sata ssd, that was WOW!
I recently upgraded my laptop to one with PCIe ssd (Dell Precision 7510) that was a disappointment in terms of speed improvements.
I think unless you do I/O intensive tasks, you won't see much speed gain if you're already using sata ssd.

some german website newer heard, they using syntetic benchmarks, ir real life situations i wouldnt bother about bottlenecks and other stuff, so the issue is in firmware, that can be sorted. same with graphic cards as they release new game you must downlod newest drivers.

Got an SM951 128GB NVMe drive from Flexxmemory website a while back. Good service and good prices can't go wrong tbh.
I went from WD Blue HDD straight to 1600MB/s reads and 650MB/s writes so big jump in performance. got for £70

I think Samsung are lucky they don't have a worse reputation for their SSDs considering the problems with those two models.
They did eventually issue a seemingly working fix or maybe workaround is a better term for the 840 Evo but the 840 took years to get its update - LINK.
So I fail to see Samsung as a premium manufacturer of SDDs when they should have recalled those 840 Drives which I think Intel would have done.

A bit different from exploding Note batteries though.
Seems the firmware behaves correctly when writing but when reading it doesn't throttle but runs at full speed until it just freezes or freezes the whole computer. Strange how this wasn't spotted during QA though which goes back to my original comment about Samsung and their SSD firmware.
