I bought one of these from Costco in Liverpool I think they may have only just been reduced I'm sure they were around the £250 mark. Plenty on the shelf also get good reviews.

also, this is one of the very few sound stages that can hold a wide legged TV stand. I have a 50" Polaroid which has feet 70cm apart. I only found about 5 soundstages that could accommodate it.

yes jaspabt I'm the same Samsung tv with base that is I think slightly wider than yours this speaker just fits with probably about 3mm to spare either side. I nearly bought this from Costco when it was about £250 I'd have been gutted

I have had the later HW-610 version of this for a couple of years, a definite improvement over the TV speakers but nothing fantastic. The idea of sub-woofers in any sound stage is a joke, also remember the quality of TV transmitted sound varies considerably from channel to channel. Then if you try and use it on 2.1 digital you will spend your life chasing lip sync issues. The only way I have found to overcome lip sync is to buy a TV with a 5.1 decoder built in and then output to the amp or sound base with an optical cable, it then all works without lip sync problems.
By the way if you have a sky box and set the output to digital you will get no sound on HD channels, that is because there is no stereo signal in satellite HD transmissions. If you want to be sure you get a TV with a 5.1 decoder by one with HD satellite built as it has to have the ability output HD sound.

hiya Dodger I'm going to set this up hopefully tonight you've mentioned about sync issues.
I'll be taking a Sony sound bar off which I've had no sync issues with but I am on virgin maybe the sync issues are related to you using satellite anyway I'll post on here if I have any issues

I’m glad you had no issues, it drove me mad, you will only get them if you try and use the box set to digital sound, the VM box maybe different to Sky on this but I know a few people that have suffered with it on Sky, once you notice it you end up constantly looking for it. There are no issues if the sound is set to PCM.
Sorry if you know all this, I just don’t know how much knowledge you have.
All HD free to air channels have no stereo sound in the signal only 5.1 it’s surprising how many people who sell them don’t know this, even Samsung support didn’t know when I spoke to them when I first got the sound stage. I must admit it took me a while to figure it out.

Charge us extra for slimmer TV's, then we gotta pay for speakers that don't sound like it's coming out of a slim tv!

This is an exceptional waste of £120. If you have £120 you don't need just flush it down the toilet now and save the effort.
