Cant wait for this game out! If I had a ps3 I would probably preorder it at this price. Still hasn't dropped for the ps4 version unfortunately.

I'll be using my ps3 for this. paying £15 extra for a half arsed port on the ps4 is for mugs.

I'm getting the PS4 version, but still play on my PS3 a lot. Resonance of Fate & Yakuza 4 / 5 have been my summer games and I still go back to Street Fighter 3, Wipeout & Virtua Fighter 5 regularly. Good consoles never die.
It could be worse, it could be 2008 and only releasing Persona 4 on PS2 (& later Vita).

Own PS3 and 4, still playing the classic library of PS3 game on PS+. Just because something isn't the latest model doesn't mean it is no longer worth consideration.
Sometimes I listen to old music and watch old films too.

There is literally no difference between the PS3 and PS4 version. If you have both consoles you can get the same game cheaper without any problem.
Exact same framerate, half arsed upscaling. The game was ALWAYS developed for the PS3, with the PS4 version being a half arsed port with no improvements whatsoever. I'll be getting the PS4 version anyway because I'm going to be game sharing with a mate, but yeah.

Persona 4 was released in Europe on the PS2 in 2009...

What's half arsed about it? Shorter load times, 1080p and a smoother framerate all seem worthwhile to me.

its only supposed to be upscaled, nothing has been done to improve textures etc

Fair enough, probably would have pushed the due date back even further(!), so I am more than happy to have a port :sunglasses:

The Steelbook Launch Edition, which is the free upgrade for standard copies while stocks last, is only for the PS4 version.

IS that the UK release date?
Also I would say having access to Remote Play makes PS4 version worth it - seems like Persona would be ideal for this feature.

Not sure what that means, Jibun means something to do with yourself and nihongohan has nihon so im guessing its to do with japan or Japanese but thats about it

ロゼッタストーンの日本語読本を購入したらいいですよ
rozettasutoun no nihongo tokuhon (w)o kounyuu shi tara ii desu yo
Would be a better sentence. kounyuu isn't a verb and you generally omit pronouns.
Also, rosetta stone is terrible for learning Japanese. Read Tae-kim, do vocabulary daily with ANKI and start reading texts from MINNA NO NIHONGO and GENKI

It's an image from the American preorder site, but yes it is, since last month they announced that the release date will be the same in Europe: 14th of February 2017.Nothing wrong with playing PS3 games but the analogy is backwards, we're not talking about classic old releases still being relevant, we're talking about choosing a new release on old technology, e.g. The Force Awakens on VHS.

bit gutted there won't be a special edition ps3 version, but hey ho!

But one is 30FPS and the other is 60fps. This is the main point for me.
voyager123
27 Sep 16#26
seems a lot of conflict on this some sites say both are 30 while others say both are 60 and some say ps3 is 30 only
I thought the devs would be releasing a PS4 Pro patch as well...
voyager123
27 Sep 16#28
both ps4 and ps3 are 30 as it was not stable at 60fps on the ps4 and the frame-rates went up and down so its been locked at a constant 30. but the patch for the pro is supposed to make it a constant 60fps. no 4K as the ps4 is still using textures etc from the ps3 this would be very noticeable and some stuff would look worse than the normal ps4 version or even the ps3 with it being up-scaled to 4K
so it looks like it is a terrible half assed port as people said

Surely the better comparison would be choosing to view The Force Awakens on DVD over Blu-ray/4k Blu-ray given the choice. The film will still look nice but why not have the best version if its available to you?
I don't think the game will generate as many PS3 sales in the EU as it did in Japan on release but its nice to give players options (and additional sales are always appreciated by the developer).

Are you saying VHS wouldn't look nice? How dare you!

double checked BOTH ARE 30
https://www.reddit.com/r/Persona5/comments/53s1bw/30_or_60_fps_on_ps4_and_how_is_the_diffrence/
also checked again and even the devs have said both are 30FPS
Strange that the recent trailers seem to be recorded at 60FPS. The first set of trailers were 30FPS though.
