Have you never heard of the country called China?
B&M probably paid 50p per lamp, so they still can't lose!
Nobody, and I mean nobody, can compete with China.
Soon people will realise that chains here are sucking people dry. Take one well-known high street chain (could be any to be honest), they have shoes and bags priced 'very' high. I showed someone the other day, a gullible colleague (lady) who was really (really!) considering buying this nice looking handbag ...£99 ffs! She says 'but it's leather, leather is expensive'.
Check the small label and see where it's made? I said.
She then put it back.
Looked at their shoes, again most are made in the Big C. They must be paying peanuts for this stuff. No. They are paying peanuts for it. I've nothing against making a profit, but if you don't want to be caught out, buy direct from the big C. You can. Lots of it is post free!
Oh forgot. HOT because it's a pound. You could buy all in the shop and sell the lot to the gullible at a car boot for 5 quid each, probably more! Suckers are everywhere today. You don't believe me do you?
Or you could put them on Ebay and charge almost  17 TIMES this price! LOL!
its not about £1 .. its about making space for a new pricey model. the biggest issue in every retail store is display space. argos knows it and u know what they did ...

Is our national? I didn't know Padstow had a B&M, unless it's recently been opened by Rick Stein?

A new "pricey" model? Have you been in B&M? The last thing B&M customers are looking for is anything "pricey"!

Do you know .. the original price of that table lamp £6.99 is considered pricey at B&M.
The models on display are from £5.99. They can make a minimum of £4 profit from each item

My goodness. If I was wanting to pay £16.99 for a table lamp. I'd made sure it's a decent one.
