Decent price for the MK1 Bundle really, it comes with Ableton as well and works with Mac, PC and iPads (not 100% if latest iOS supports it, although it should be fine)
Focusrite Midnight is still around £79 elsewhere so overall looks like a nice little set up. Not sure how many HUKD Musicians we have out there, but defo worth considering if you've been looking for something else to add to your set up. I'm a guitarist myself but do dabble with keys here and there. Using an M-Audio 49 jobby still.

Be careful with Gear4Music - they aren't to be trusted with their 'free gift' offers. They're also advertising the Presonus Studio 192 as coming with a free gift (a Faderport, to be redeemed from Presonus), despite the offer having expired at the end of July. I've been in contact with them about this, and they agree that the offer has expired, but they refuse to correct their listing. This 'free gift' might also be a expired.

Looks nice! But for me VSTs/Softsynths always have a slight but noticeable latency vs hardware synths, so live playing is never very enjoyable :/
I use the ASIO4ALL drivers which are vital in Windows but even so it's still not quite good enough... is sound latency just a Windows problem, or are Macs affected too?!

What latency are you getting with that before cracks, pops etc? You might need a better audio device.

You will still need a decent audio interface to run this through... but to be honest this device is better suited in a studio.

all daws are hard to get to grips with i think, it just varies with each program and how they are laid out,
alot of people think Ableton is one of the easiest to learn but i still find it a bit hard to use because im so used to Reason

Nice device but can't believe it didn't come with an AC adapter Is that normal or is it missing from my box?

Interested. Not sure what the "free gifts" really entail. I have a Windows setup for Traktor Pro 2 but I'd like to start doing some live stuff and maybe production. Would this be a decent tool to start with? I appreciate that I probably need good software. I get different reports on what's best to start with. Fruity, Ableton, etc. Don't mind the learning curve - just wanted something relatively straightforward but like the idea of being able to do live stuff using a controller such as this.
Existing setup is basic, Traktor Pro 2, X220 PC (Win 7), Faderfox DJ3 controller, NI Audio 2 DAC, phones, random audio amp.

Be careful with Gear4Music's 'Free gift' promotions. They aren't necessarily going to be honoured. Here's my recent interaction with them regarding the 'free gift' they were advertising their Presonus Studio 192 as coming with.
They never replied to my last email, and are still advertising the Studio 192 as coming with a free gift which they admit it no longer comes with.

Thats true, if anything it's the interface that lets it down a bit.. Bitwig is very similar but slightly more refined and has a clear path. It has a smaller learning curve in my opinion.

Ableton isn't hard really and there are FAR more tutorials online as well as supported hardware. Bigwig is very good but still quite new.

Great midi keyboard, got one. Can't fault it. For this price include some focusrite plugins, no brainer!

Very tempted to buy this, both of those plugins are great.

I found the software that came with this really difficult to get the hang of (windows laptop) - thought it would have been simple plug and play but hours spent trying to find out how to use it!

If it was that simple everyone would be making music. Ableton is quite hard to get to grips with though i agree.
You should look at Bitwig, it has a much nicer workflow.

You can't go wrong for this price, although I prefer the larger models like 49 or 61 so you can get some more mileage out of it.
It takes some getting used to but it's some of the best software you can get for this sort of thing - the full version anyway, but lite is okay for a start.

Includes Ableton lite, not the full version. Lite comes free with a lot of hardware

How does this compare to the Akai MPK Mini MKII?

They're both quite similar feature wise, it'll most likely come down to preference. Have a feel of the keys at your local shop and decide that way. If you use Ableton, definitely buy this. If you use different software, consider other keyboards.
