Might be in the minority - but I like No Mans Sky.

I'm not sure how you can tell someone to research this after claiming the developers didn't 'big' this up - it was Sean Murray, the managing director of Hello Games that was responsible for making all the false promises not anyone else. Even late on in development he was still blatantly lying about the game's features and even now, the ASA are involved due to the false advertising on the Steam page. There's plenty compilations on Youtube showing Sean Murray talking about features that are not even remotely part of the game although Sony clearly are due part of the blame for not reigning him in and stop him making false promises about the game. Of course it's normal for games to get hyped up and some features are cut but not as drastically as No Man's Sky and without the blatant lying aside from perhaps Peter Molyneux.

I genuinely think it's a shame as some of the tech at the game's core is promising and it is a small team, if they'd launched it as a £20 title on Early Access as there's enough people that like it as is from which they could then develop and improve the game. As it is, I don't think the game has much future - the game population has plummeted and its current rating on Steam is Overwhelmingly Negative with 17000 reviews, they've trashed the game's reputation and as a developer. I don't have much sympathy though as they brought it all on themselves as they were the ones repeatedly making false promises about the game, it wasn't the publishers or news sites that were making the features up.

It's a good game in its own right and well worth the £25

A retailer on Ebay has it for the same price if you prefer to use Paypal or want the Nectar points.

I borrowed a copy, if it released at £25 and without the marketing lies it would have been well received. Still think it'll be £15 before the year is out.
