£3 seat sale at £4. Nice. Maybe the mention of £4 should be added to the deal title?

May be the booking fee surcharge should be added to the title.
Booking fees should be banned.
What next? Perhaps, checkout charges at Tesco if you do not use self-service.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, removal of the "booking fee" cost would simply equate to moving the equivalent cost elsewhere. A "£3 seat sale + £1 booking fee" would likely become a "£4 seat sale" which technically would be of detriment to the consumer as a £7 sale return would then become an £8 return unless a further promotion was added.

If you use a cashier with ten items or less you get charged a pound, how about that?

Seat from £1, on one coach at one time becomes £6 on the next page... riddle me that!

Sorry even if you paid me you couldn't get me on a coach, been there, done that. I've had more than my fair share of oversized people encroaching on my seat and smell of other peoples stinky food to last me a lifetime

I get your point, I really honestly do. But when a coach to London next week can cost me £14 return, compared to £112 on the train. For the sake of the sweaty people, I'll take the £98 saving.
Thanks OP. Booked and sorted.

Or may be the price would be £3.15.
Perhaps, the booking fee is to pay for cashback from Qudico et al.
If one wants a coach the first option tends to be National Express and then Megabus.
Many people know this. If cashback was scrapped, the savings could scrap booking fees.

You are all so lucky. Wish I could get it here in N. Ireland! £12 to Belfast from nearest town 27 miles away! Stay overnight & no return fare! Bus comes to village once a week on a Thursday! You don't know how lucky you are. Enjoy :-)

This drove me bonkers last night. Was trying to get from Portsmouth to London (well anywhere really!) as a weekend treat for the kids. Lots of options but seemingly for only 1 seat on each coach! For example if I tried to book one seat from Portsmouth to London return it came to £3. If I tried to book 2 seat then the price shot up. The first time I did it I assumed there was only one space available on that particular coach. But every variation I tried did exactly the same thing.... and I tried A LOT of variations! I gave up in the end.

Self checkout are a paradise for thieves.
How about an entry fee to shops, especially electrical and book shops as they are often a show room where people visit, test/inspect and order online.
The same is for WHSmiths and Waterstones.
Waterstones are amazing. Instore, buy one get on half price. Online, no such offer.
Order online, collect from store then tell the cashier you want a refund and will buy them all again.
