Just been checking for somewhere cheap to go in Europe came across this fare. Quite a few dates available in October. Sample dates out 12 Oct return 18 Oct. Just googled looks like a nice city to visit.
Use Trivago to find accommodation which is very reasonable example Excelsior Hotel-Timisoara via Travel Republic 4 star hotel £33 per night for 2 people sharing.
Hope this helps someone.

Guys as much as I appreciate comments on this thread i do not think some of them are appropriate for this post. Any comments on the deal itself is welcome.
I am sure people can make up their own minds whether to go or not. I think visiting a place should not be determined by how rich a country is but to try and experience new cultures etc.
Thanks

Romania is not as rich as the UK because it was taken over by Turkey who stole all their gold, then suffered for two generations within the USSR because Churchill completely screwed them over at a conference, whereas the UK was subjugating half the known world and transporting millions of slaves.
Our wealth doesn't intrinsically come from what we do now, and neither does their poverty.

Go visit Transylvania, Maramures, Timisoara, Brasov, Cluj, Sibiu, Bucharest etc, you have best road's in the world..Transalpina and Transfagarasan. You have loads of mountains to climb and things to see, you have the Black Sea, Delta Dunarii .just make a search on google and see the photos..you could do and see many beautiful things...Haters are going to have but...we have our gypsy, people who come in UK and claim benefits, thieves etc etc..but you have it too.. . Most of us are hard working people and we do the jobs that you think you are to better to do.
Romania has great traditions, very nice people, awesome food and the MOST beautifull womens! Take a trip and convince yourself.

Cant believe the usual judgemental carp that people spew on here. Go there and have a look. Romanian women are among the most beautiful in Europe. It also is NOT a land of Gypsies and thieves as the media make out.

I lived in bits of Eastern Europe ( not Romania ), however the same general rules will apply, namely that with the standard of living in most of the villages, no way will the vast majority want to return, unless they've saved enough money here to buy a house over there, and possibly ensure a job.
If you ask a few where they are from, most will name the nearest large town or city, as 'villager' can be an insult in some countries, but very few were born in the bigger cities of Eastern Europe, as life there is not so bad so they tend to stay and we get those from poorer communities like villages.
Some are working in the hotel trade near me, and have been on holidays to Tenerife as well as farther afield to places like India - no way could they afford that if living in Romania, Hungary etc, so they will do all in their power to remain, for example have a few children here, and hope they start school so family life would be disrupted and they cannot be removed.
Another common event is marriage to a Brit, which help both sides, as the Brit gets free tour guide and translator for holidays, whilst a passport is the eventual reward for the other one.
Some will accuse me of racism I'm sure, but I lived and worked for several years amongst locals, as well as having friends inside the British embassy in a couple of countries, so got to hear of all the tricks and dodges.
Oh yes... brilliant deal, hurry up and go there before it gets infested with drunken stag/hen parties, who should really have passports confiscated and forced to go to Blackpool or Skegness instead.

have you ever considered why the standard of living is so low in this countries? It can't be the fact that we are lazy, go on any construction in London and around and at least 75% are easy Europeans

Without them many of you living in brand new homes will still be living in 100 years old houses. So if is not laziness, and Romania especially is a very naturally rich country, I suspect is the fact that the most powerful European countries have an interest to keep that part of the world poor.
