British airways have flights to and from Majorca at ridiculously cheap prices for summer holidays next year - The cheapest flights leave on a Saturday evening from Stansted... Prices 5th - 13th for example is £100

I am going to guess that protection wise your personality is a big help.

each to their own mate, some of us wanted children to love & nurture instead of being so self centred.

Some things are fairly guaranteed, school holidays are fix and none negotiable, flights/holiday prices will triple during school holidays. So planing for a nice holiday and saving 60% means more fun and enjoyment which doesn't sound dull to me.

I've never understood how can anyone book flights for a year in advance.
Is your life so incredibly dull that you're completely certain that nothing is going to change for 12 months?

5th-13th of August do you mean? Sorry I can't see it in the description. Thanks for the heads up though!

They don't seem to fly direct from Manchester. I gave up looking from other northern airports. I think you have to put PAL (for Palma, Spain) in the search box for Mallorca. It didn't like MAL or MAJ.

PMI is the airport code for Palma Majorca, I believe

We booked ours on the 5th August 2017, returning Stanstead on the 19th, two adults and two children for £498. (Mainly London Airports). This includes luggage.
Ok flights out are at 8,45pm, flights home at midnight, but that is half the price of anywhere else and cheaper than driving to Edinburgh and Ryanair also which seem expensive this year! Last year we flew from Edinburgh to PMI for £600 and anywhere South of Hadrians Wall was £1000 at that time.
I booked with BA two weeks ago... Heated.
Edit: Just checked, cheapest now is £617, that includes baggage also and is still cheap for the time!

Add you fuel, travelling and any additional hotel into the mix and see what you think... For us, it#s a 2hr drive although two weeks parking is £98 instead of £60, but I don't have half as much fuel to use, hotel the night before plus meals for four night beforehand like I did last year

use premier inn park and fly, we got two weeks parking which was the stanstead long stay and a night in premier Inn for £84. was cheaper than buying just the parking.

Some of the last minute Thomson prices this summer were ridiculously cheap for the Balaerics but on the downside the accommodation was again ridiculously expensive. I suppose if you booked the accommodation early and knew the flight times Thomson were going to operate next year you could take a risk and grab a cheap deal.

thomson always have cheap flights every year, and not just to majorca, to orlando £189 return there was a lot of availability and a load of other places, nothing special

Sir, you must understand, there are no coincidences.. I have analysed all of the destinations and where there are cheap or reasonable flights the accommodation is always sky high

You need kids, tends to get your life into perspective and organised.... Especially with holidays! You either book well in advance or leave it late... Early, more choice of what you want. Late, you take your chances!!
We knew what we wanted in terms of an apartment in Majorca so took a flyer for two weeks and booked it. I know I could get flights for £700 or thereabouts from bonnie Scotland, but for £498 in August.... That's a bargain my friend.

We are only allowed one person of work at a time. As I do not want to go away when there are screaming kids everywhere, I usually go away Sept/Oct. June/May is to soon after my annual ski trip!
Pretty much got my next 2 years planned out!

One thing IS for certain. You'll still be a boring, sad and lonely troll in 12 months.

We booked with BA for next Easter school holidays a month ago from Heathrow and have to say it was cheap. Including luggage, two adults and one child aged 15 the total was £480. We tried to compare Easyjet, RyanAir & Monarch and only Monarch had flights listed but by the time you added luggage far more expensive. From past experinece both RyanAir & Easyjet fares for Easter are closer to £800 almost double. Ahh and I wouldn't fly withn RyanAir again, complete con, trying to rip the customer off from time of booking to the point of return checkin, take care if using them.
