these are a great little tool - picked myself up a stealth version last year when these were on offer at £27 @ B&Q from a post here on HUK

I bought an Evolution mitre/chop saw recently which I permanently mounted to a work bench. I want one of these too but to be honest, the mobility factor and the idea of my fingers and the saw deciding to hang out at the same place at the same time scares me a little. I'm sure they're great but I'm not confident I personally should be allowed to own one!

I would advise getting the rage version it's only 10 quid more from screwfix. More robust model designed for more regular longer use.

Love my rage. It went through my kitchen worktop like a knife through very soft butter.

Honestly - Had my Fury for a few years (bought because it was the cheapest at the time) and its worked through everything without an issue, including building a timber framed extension and cutting paving slabs (with diamond blade). Last week I went from cutting up an metal bed frame to chopping up a pine desk - the blade on this is simply brilliant. Still on the original Blade which has had a lot of abuse - but still cuts really well.
Just trying to justify buying myself a mitre saw now - after the experience with this the Evolution ones are my first choice.

Be careful on Youtube when looking for reviews of Evolution tools, they appear to send them out to just about anyone specifically for review. Lots of the videos follow the same format where they cut wood, wood with nails, steel box section etc as if they're been told the script.

These are fantastic, use mine regularly and they do a great job. Even cutting at 45 deg, the results are excellent. This has cut thick wood where my Bosch circular saw gave up.

They sell B stock mitre saws through their ebay outlet. Only 3 months warranty but about 2/3rds of Screwfix price. If like me you plan to use it for a big job then store it for ages until the next time then the short warranty may not be an issue but if it's for regular use then probably best buying new. Quality control (on outlet stock at least) is also awful but customer service very good at putting things right.
