Just saw an EasyJet deal posted, and it reminded me to post another 'trick'. I did this last week and the process was painless enough. Basically, if you book as soon as flights become available, they tend to be as cheap as you are going to get (especially if it's within the school holiday period) Prices generally tend to only go up, But it's worth keeping an eye on the prices, because if they go down at all, then you can claim back the difference in the form of a voucher, Just give EasyJet a call. This gives you advantage of knowing you have your flights 'in the bag' and also that you are getting the best price. I agree it's a bit of a pain checking prices all of the time, but it's worth the occasional look. The details are in their T's and C's, Article 25. Like I say, I did this last week and had a voucher back for £65, took about 10mins on the phone...
Yes, this has been posted before, but not for a long time i believe, so worthy of a repost for those that are not aware.
The Blurb......
Article 25 Price Promise
25.1 If You have, or the Booker on Your behalf has, made a Booking directly through the Website and You, or the Booker, subsequently find that lower fares (when taken together with all applicable fees and charges) for the same easyJet Flight have become available, You will be refunded the difference as a credit voucher against future Flights on easyJet. The only exception to this “price promise” is if the lower fares have been offered as part of a promotional offer that is launched after You have purchased the Flight. For the avoidance of doubt, this Article 25 will not apply to any Booking made on Your behalf by any licensed third party booking systems (e.g.: travel agents, screen scrapers) or through easyJet’s Call Centre.
25.2 Each Flight will be treated separately. This credit voucher will be valid for use against Bookings made within 6 months from the date of issue of the credit voucher. The credit voucher will expire at midnight on the expiry date and the validity of the credit voucher cannot be extended.
25.3 To qualify for a refund, the lower fare must still be available for sale at the time the claim is made to Our Customer Service Team and must be for the same date, destination and Flight number as in the Booking made.
25.4 If Your “price promise” request is in respect of a Booking that has been subject to a "Flight Transfer" or a "Name Change" request (see Article 8 (Name Changes) and Article 9 (Flight Transfers and Flexible Fares (“easyJet Flexi”)) then easyJet will only consider the total fare (including all applicable fees and charges) in the original Booking as the reference point for the “price compare”, not the sum of the all inclusive fare paid in the initial Booking plus the additional fees and charges incurred as a result of the name change or Flight transfer. All transfer fees and name change fees are non-refundable.
25.5 Claims made in relation to this “price promise” must be made via telephone to Our Customer Service Team. Claims made by fax, letter or email will not be accepted.

I got £610 back. You can phone up multiple times on the same flight if the prices changes. (Which I did) Can just be on one of the ways flights as well or both. Got six months to use them.

Do you have to know the lowest price? Is there a pricetracker (like camelcamelcamel) to help with this? Cheers

No, they work out the difference when you phone, but obviously you need to know that there IS a difference. There are plenty of price tracker apps, that will give you an alert when a certain route drops below a certain (configurable) threshold.

I couldn't get them to provide the difference. They said not available on their system despite me having the lower prices in my basket. Eventually agreed to issue voucher for only one of the two flights on the booking. Not impressed but would be good deal if they behaved honestly.

Yeah, it has to be on their system and 'live', so no good trying if you have flights in your basket and someone else books causing the prices to change. They certainly don't want to give you the money back! I'm sure they rely on people either not bothering or not reading the T's&C's correctly, but I usually book 30 odd flights a year, and spend all day on a PC, so if a little bit of administration can help me claw back just a little bit, then I'm happy.

Their terms clearly say fares you find, not them but they make up new conditions when you claim.

One problem is, easyjet seem to have sales every month, if not every few weeks.
Would they still offer the difference during a sale as it would be a promotional period?
Why not just refund the difference?

I used this earlier this year. I phoned up and got £155 back as a sort of credit voucher. The voucher is valid for 6 months from the date of the "refund" and you must phone up to use them.
If you book your original flight in a sale, I am not sure if you can get any money back if the price goes lower, but more experienced easyjetters will be able to advise I'm sure!

Just to be aware you have to have booked on their website NOT through their app. Unbelievable sneakiness trying to wriggle out of paying! That was the last time I ever booked via the app! Not had any issues reclaiming amounts since - had about £200 in total across a number of flights this year. I tend to use the vouchers up adding hold luggage as they are in £20/£30 chunks.

Just used it and didn't think it would work . However when I phoned was given price difference which I queried and put on hold. They then came back giving me codes for a voucher of £100 plus.

EasyJet, I was sneaking away for the weekend so Fri early AM I booked a flight for that afternoon with a £9.50 Missed Flight Cover insurance, thanks to our amazing train services I missed my flight so tried to make a claim on the policy that did not exist, yup with a print out of my insurance I received by email I could not claim because the claim number did not exist.
EasyJet refunded me

6 weeks later still fighting for £170.00+ refund, never ever again. Con artists.

Virgin Atlantic do something similar. If you book directly through the website (NOT over the phone) and find a cheaper qualifying fare before midnight of the booking - they will refund you the difference. I did this and I got back nearly £100!

Just to alert everyone,
THE VOUCHER CAN ONLY BE REDEEMED WHEN BOOKING ON THE PHONE (which is loads more expensive)
I got about £150 voucher last year, the flights I tried to book were more expensive even after the voucher was applied than if I had just booked online. I then tried to book one flight and the easyjet person cut me off after I had been on the phone over 20 minutes.
I rang up again, and booked one flight and a suitcase, which cost me £11 more than the voucher. I then had to go online and book 3 return flights for my wife and 2 children, and then also book my other flight and other suitcase online. If I remember correctly, my £150 voucher actually knocked about £105 off what my flights would have cost if all booked at once online, and my wife was stressed out while we were booking in case the 4 seats together were claimed by another booking.
The voucher also has a pretty short expiry date as well.

Sorry Iain, I have no idea, they don't fly from my local airport. But take a look through their T's & C's, you never know!!
Sorry Scoo, but it's only for flights that you 'could have bought cheaper' between booking and departing.

Great advice -thanks! I just got £30 back!
Anyone looking for the phone number its 0330 3655000 then option 5 then option 1.
The only thing I would say is that you don't get quite as much back as you'd hoped. For example, I booked a flight back in July for December at an original cost of £220. If I booked the flights today it would cost £144, so I was expecting £76 back. Not so! The original cost of £220 is made up of airport tax, VAT, credit card charges etc and Easyjet only refund the price of the actual flights, not all these hidden extras that make up the final bill. In the end I only received £30!
Still, I was able to add an extra hold bag onto a another flight I have booked early 2017 so I got something out of it, and I could do it all in the same phone call and it was an easy painless experience, just be prepared to receive less than you'd think!

If you put your flight dates in sky scanner and set an alert you can receive emails telling you if those flights are going up or down in price.

The lady I spoke to on the phone says You can use the voucher on the phone only but said they will honour online prices because of that - also if you find the price is coming up more You can Use for flight extras like hold luggage seat selections on new or existing bookings

I am on EE mobile and I called then without charge as it was part of my inclusive minutes. I would check with your provider first. Also most landlines should have 03 numbers as part of inclusive evening or weekend calls. Again check with your provider and this would also depend on what calls package you have with landline company.

Just adding to this as the deal is no longer available, BUT is still available on flights booked BEFORE 20th February 2017. So if you booked before that you can still check and get a flight voucher for any negative difference. I just got a further £16. Unfortunately, a further £50 I was hoping for was for flights booked in March, so they no longer qualify.
