No, I get what you mean, but the idea that "no one has lost out" is complete rubbish and you know it. If I was to own a shop that sold the latest movies, and somebody was outside the store giving away bootleg copies of them to customers, you can be damned sure I would indeed be losing out. But because it's a faceless corporation then it's "OK". "Happily wait until it's on tv".. if that were true then you'd actually do that wouldn't you, so obviously that isn't the case..

I've downloaded an album, listened to it and thought it was awesome, then gone to buy the vinyl. I would never have bought it if I hadn't had access to a free copy beforehand. That would have deprived someone of money. Now repeat for 1000a like me.

I should clarify the scenario I was imagining is one where the viewer wouldn't pay a penny to watch the film, whether it was available free or not. If unavailable, he'd happily go without or wait for it to be on tv.

I streamed the reverant back when it was released around Oscar screener season. Thought it was decent. If it wasn't available illegally I would have rented it or went to the cinema. But I've seen it and not paid, so someone has lost out on my money.

Repeat this for the last few years that I've used Torrents, then add in books that I would have brought from Amazon or watertones. When stuff is available online for free, then businesses are losing money.

It's been years since I paid for a novel, businesses have lost hundreds of pounds of my business.

No rinse and repeat for other like me.

I think stealing a car is several orders of magnitude greater than 'illegally' watching a film. As well, stealing a car takes the car away from the owner, whereas digital streaming does not (hence why it's piracy and not theft). So piracy is different to theft, is what I'm saying.

Though I don't condone either. If only because why would anyone want to watch the propagandised rubbish Hollywood churn out?

As a prime customer, I already get Amazon Instant Video, and access to thousands of free movies. I assume this deal is aimed to non Amazon Prime customers who don't download torrents either?

Darn you then.. I've never seen anything close to as good a Deals as those. I did once get The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug in 3D Blu-ray 2nd hand for £2.54 but that was after it had been out a while.
