A few friends have this coffee maker and the coffee is really tasty and takes 30 seconds to brew (after boiling the kettle), faster than the Italian style stove top coffee makers. So much better than filter coffee.

I've had one for around 4 years (along with a lot of other coffee gadgets). It makes a decent cup of coffee and cleanup is easy but I don't use it much now, I prefer to use a small french press at work and cheap espresso machine, V60 or Vacuum pot at home. It's advertised as making espresso but the resulting coffee is nothing like espresso in my opinion, more like filter

I have two. One at home the other at work. Better than the coffee they provide us with. Cheaper than spending £3 per cup at the coffee shops. Its a calming ritual in the morning for me also.

its quick but you need to dry off the pieces if you want to store it immediately. otherwise leave it out to air dry. it ejects the coffee as a compressed puck.

Yes, literally pop the coffee puck into the bin and rinse it under the tap. That's all I've ever done with mine

For a decent shot of coffee you should really leave it to brew for 3 mins (the inverted brew method is best for this) and the water should be just under boiling. The resulting coffee is *much* better than a cafetiere because the brew time is fixed and the pressure you excerpt is the equivalent to the pressure an espresso machine gives when it forces the water through the coffee grains. With a cafetiere the coffee grains sit in the water for longer stewing away so you get a much harsher flavour.

Quite intrigued but - does this only make very small expresso-type quantities of coffee at a time? (The photo shows it sitting on a shot glass). I need something that produces a decent sized cup of coffee...

The main cylinder has enough volume to fill about 2/3 of a standard mug which you then top up. Typically one scoop of coffee equates to one espresso shot and you can vary how much water you put into the cylinder.
