Seems a good price given that it comes with the elite controller.

I should say that the Xbox One S is not included.

HEAT... this is one the "hardcore" gamers amongst us will love..... I'm too casual to handle the power of the elite controller though.. I just look on in awe at those that possess the hardcore abilities to wield a £100 controller safely...
In my day if you used something like this...
it was nowt to be proud of...

I know there a new slim version, but performance wise is this better as it has the 1TB solid state hybrid drive?
Is there really a difference in performance or just marketing thing?
Good price btw. Hot

Been asking this question since the release of the S model. No one has given me an answer yet.

No performance boost in games but fractionally faster load times and slightly more responsive dashboard. Its kind of nice in some COD3 multiplayer maps being the 1st or 2nd to spawn at the start of a match as it puts you at the front but really there is no meaningful benefit.

It doesn't have a 1GB SSD it has a 1GB HD/SSD hybrid drive. This means only around 6 to 8gb is SSD, while the rest is your bog standard platter HD. Most of the SSD portion will be taken up by the operating system, and all that will do is speed up the boot time (20 seconds quicker reports say) and moving from page to page. It will not speed up the loading of any games (unless they are very small and they manage to get into the space on the SSD left over from the operating system)

There was no marketing for performance boosts, actually. It was Digital Foundry's video that checked and found that some games perform better with the new S model. 7% better gpu performance, so, your mileage may vary.

Shame the S model kept with the ancient sata II port, almost pointless adding an SSD. Hoping the neo ps4 has now realised 2008 has come and gone and get a sata III port.

Cheaper to integrate Sata2 and you won't notice the difference on this console.

If you plan on buying a 4K UHD to in the next year or two then get the S.
Slightly faster GPU and 4K drive. Fora Horizons 3 and another game are currently going to use UHD.
It's also 30% smaller with integrated power.
I'm holding out for a really cheap deal on an elite console.

Slightly wrong, there is very little chance of any Xbox One S games being 4K, they will however be able to take advantage of HDR for enhanced colour palette, but only if you have a HDR Tv (not all 4K TV's are HDR).
The only way you will be playing Forza Horizon 3 or Gears 4 natively in 4K is if you buy them on PC.

Heat.
Take care of the elite controller. They feel more sturdy and better built but seem to be a bit more fragile in certain areas i. E. The anolgue clickers and bumpers.
Heat for the deal, i paid 150 alone for my controller inc cover.
