Pretty much sells itself, A bit pricey but makes a nice storage box even at £3.49 for spicing up your room or shelving. Has been selling fast, came across it when I was looking at storage boxes on Argos.
I would like to point out this is a SMALL BOX so may not suit everyone unless of course you guys fancy folding up clothes ( was originally looking to use it for that, not keen on folding clothes though ).

Anyone got any smart ideas on making a lid for it so that it could be used as a small side table?

Why dont you buy two then have one face bottom up on top of the existing one, then you just need to add 4 pieces of cardboard wedged between the two on each four of the insides lengths/widths of the bottom one but they need to stick out for atleast 2cm or something: that is one way... the second is to buy an actual table roughly £20 from homebase.
But saying that these are really really small boxes so as a side table it wouldnt work to be fair. unless you prop it up with several free catalogues from Argos. Lot of effort for £15 saving on a side table.
