If you're not desperate for a phone, the moto E is often at £39 or £35 at Vodafone. Worth checking now and again for the price to come down. Moto E is the much better phone
The issue with this phone is that the eBay sellers rarely have the codes available for them, as the unlock codes aren't added to Vodafone's databases until at least 30 days after activation. I had two to unlock which the eBay sellers could not get the codes for.
Vodafone now offer a free unlock via an online unlocking form, as long as a PAYG sim has been in use in the handset for at least 30 days.

I had this phone which I used on holiday, and it can be unlocked from eBay. It is not bad at this price.

I paid £6.85 to unlock it but now the same seller is charging £10.99 on eBay.

I agree that the Moto E is a great phone for the price as soon as they drop the price again I'll buy another of them

Apart from the Smart Ultra 6 and Smart Prime 7, which are both made by ZTE.

Think the typical ebay unlock is about £15, but if you can wait for 30days from purchase it can be free from Voda. Just check the FAQ/t&c that mentions the 30days:
"To prevent fraud, we check that you’ve been a Vodafone customer for at least 30 days before you can request an unlock code. The first time a SIM was used in that phone needs to have been at least 30 days ago..."

I have got the Moto E and to get it unlocked it cost me £2 i think the only down side of the Moto e is there is No camera flash but no big deal if you take photo in good light apart form that its all good you can even use you sd memory card as Internal memory rather then the 8gb you get in the phone.
i paid this guy 0.99p for unlocking my Vodafone Smart First 6

Minimum £45 spend required on Voda site due to obligatory £10 topup that may or may not be of any use, but Voda say you're having it regardless.

Good phone. Has the same processor as the Moto E and NFC too. Bigger screen than the Moto E. The only main difference is Android 6.0 on the Moto E whereas it's 5.02 on the Prime 6. Camera is better on the Prime 6.

Maybe others might know but I assume you might know.
What is the criteria for Android Pay as this has NFC?
Can I use custom roms for this with Android Pay?
The LG Leon seems to have NFC, Marshmallow according to xda developers but I dont see much there rgding VSP6.
Thinking of a cheap Android Pay phone.

Mine arrived today. Locked to Vodafone network (not operator - Talkmobile still works).
Arrived with a sim card with no balance. I wonder if they are going to unlock it for me for free.

Hi, just to clarify, I'm looking at buying this phone, when you say Talk mobile do you mean a talk talk sim as I know they use Vodafone? Thanks

I'm happy to wait for it to be delivered. It's equivalent to ordering from China, and is better spec than you'd get for £35 from Gearbest etc, Snapdragon SoC, decent battery etc. Throw in the UK warranty etc this is a steal

I ordered this phone on the 2nd of August and the delivery date has been pushed forward to the 13th of August so I presume they will receive stock next week.

Ordered it yesterday with 1-2 months lead time, got an update today that it will be delivered Saturday or Monday, so happy days. Planning to give it to my granny as a videocalling device.
I'll remove the sim, connect it to her neighbour's wifi (he's fine with it) and put a preconfigured skype on it as the only app on the main screen. Should be good enough for that, and at 35 it's a steal.

Vodafone at zero cost after Voda PAYG SIM has been active for 30 days: What type of customer are you? Pay as you go.
There are no charges for network unlock codes.
Click each of the following boxes to confirm they apply to you:
The phone hasn’t been reported lost or stolen
I haven’t already requested an unlock code this year for this number
I’ve been using my Pay as you go SIM for more than 30 days https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/forms/unlock-code-request/

do you have to to top up the sim and activate it .i.e do you need to put credit on the sim and make calls et within the 30 days ?

Sadly I do not know, and my purchase interest has waned so did not take it further. Consider that the free unlock declaration has no specific mention of obligation to top-up. Would be useful to know though.
