We love Vodafone the Mrs had her contract for 2 years and they never once charged here the line rental of £40 a month , the only ever charged her for calls that where not included in her package or if she went over , her average bill was 55p a month and she got a iPhone 6 . She put the money away just in case they noticed and wanted it back !!!!!! She got a phone call from them exactly 2 years later , when the deal was up , to say their has been a problem with your bill , but we can't ask for the money back !!!!!! She had saved the £960ish just in case . Result we love Vodafone

I beg you not to go with Vodafone at any costs! Renewed last year and after 10 / 15 calls was offered compensation after problems just renewing my contract. Then someone called a few weeks ago asking if I wanted to increase my data at no extra cost (I had gone over in previous month) and was also offered an update to my phone without early upgrade fees. I should have learnt my lesson and refused, however I did accept it. I called a couple of days later to check everything was in order, what a surprise it wasn't. Nothing on the system about a phone upgrade so I asked them to listen to the call from the Vodafone agent I spoke to.. What a nightmare! Was promised call back after callback (even when I managed to speak to a 'manager') and never received one, I had to call another 5/6 times to see what was happening..eventually during the last call I was put on hold for a few minutes and they came back and agreed I could have an upgrade. I asked if they had listened to the call when I was on hold as there was no way they would have just said yes without listening to it, they said they hadn't but I knew they had, they just didn't want to accept it. As soon as my contract ends I'm gone. Never dealing with these cowboys again.

Voda were tough this time around. Was on a £19.44 pcm, 6GB plan with all world/Euro traveller packages but they refused to continue with it. Picked up the £22.50 plan with a bump to 20GB and EU allowance and a second data sim and dongle thrown in. Dongle itself comes with 10GB itself so it's added to the data sim and the dongle is 15 quid or thereabouts. Best I could get off them without coming across as a ****.

Lol - you posting to this thread made me check the Vodafone website, and this £22.20 / 20GB / 4GB Roaming / Spotify SIM deal is available again but must be a different link (and probably got its own post). The Quidco for a £22 SIM only deal is currently £80 (for the next 5 days) and topcashback is £68.25. I won't bother posting the link, as you really should go through Quidco/TCB and then look on Vodafone for the easy-to-find SIM only deal.
Normal caveats apply about checking Vodafone like a hawk for a couple of months, with the expectation that you may/will have to do some web chat to get the right price after you receive your SIM.
We've got 3* of these SIMS - exceptional value with the free Spotify - but I go through e2save.com or mobiles.co.uk to get the better value cashback deals (and with 3 SIMs I'm all over the odd schedules for submitting bills to get cashback  )
*NB - Vodafone really don't like giving 3 SIMs to the same address, even with different names/payment details. You get the mysterious 'you failed the credit check but we can't tell you why' email when you submit the 3rd request. Had to get a family member to buy the 3rd SIM for me. Don't know if this is 3 SIMs max, or just 3 SIMs within a certain time period, or if the other mobile providers have the same restrictions...

So eventually i finally got my chance to upgrade my phone! Woo hoo!! - except in classic vodafone style - it wasn't the phone i was allowed to upgrade, it was my contract so basically all I got was the chance to stay with Vodafone for another 24 months early. Thanks Vodafone! I said there was absolutely no chance I was staying and put the phone down. To be fair to them when they didn't believe me (again) and i said to look for the text message I had requested from the vodafone C.S. rep. i spoke to last time, that's the quickest they have got a 'manager' involved since I've been with them. Funny when we request a manager - and its normally when we have tried everything else they are always too busy..

I think this is Vodafone standard practice. When I first got the SIM their website also said £32 owed, and they only applied the 40% discount when I complained over chat. At first they said I had to go back to Mobiles.co.uk to get it sorted, but I pointed out that it was a vodafone bill for the amount advertised on the vodafone website. The operator said she would 'speak to her supervisor' and a few minutes later returned with 'I've got good news for you!' then applied the discount. My account still says the bill is £32, but the amount owed is £18.20. I've also ordered the £20/20GB sim-only deal and I'm expecting the same hassle.
This does seem to be their standard practice.
(I'm still going to buy *another* sim though - my kids can find a lot of pokemon with 12GB, lol)

EE are pretty shocking too in a few ways, also really hard work but when you need them for the hope of a signal in a remote area then what can you do.
However still to PAC my number and sitting in the city with 3 bars and every call to my phone is going straight to voicemail, my wife has experienced this a bit too.
Guess my next Voda test will be the number transfer, see if that mucks up or lose access to the Sky Sports app assuming it pics up on a number change

You have to persevere with Voda! My account was showing 40% off £32 for this which meant I couldn't get my NHS discount. I had to have two chat sessions before I got them to understand. My terms said it was a standard price not discounted so I insisted that I have my NHS discount on £19.20 they have said they have done that. I've saved the chat transcript (which you should ALWAYS do when chatting to Voda CS)

Not sure why people are having problems. I upgraded to this today and this is what the chat log said. It's pretty clear its £19.20 and free Spotify for a year.
The bundle you have chosen gives you Unlimited minutes, Unlimited texts and 12GB of data. The standard monthly cost of this is £19.2, which will show on your My Vodafone account online.
As part of your Red Value bundle, you may choose to take up Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass. This will remain on your Red Value Bundle for the length of the offer at no extra charge.

Is it possible to ring up Voda after the order is placed via quidco to confirm what you have got/getting and the total price? If correct great. If not just cancel. And try again at a later date
I would love a Voda deal myself on Life mobile at the moment, but in my area coverage is patchy. And from research it seems voda are the best in the area.

The same happened to me, my bill online was showing £32.00 but I signed up to the £19.20 deal... they were useless the woman couldn't do the 40% discount so gave me 50% instead, but I won't hold my breath.. got it all in writing, asked her to email it across for proof. Also got proof it won't effect my Quidco either, which didn't track. Made a claim and spoke to Quidco, they've sorted it and it's finally tracked all fine... Didn't realise Spotify was for only 1 month though?! Where does it say only 1 month and not 12 months? Argh! Seems maybe don't sign up to this offer unless you're prepared to get a headache from all the chasing that's involved in sorting your bill out...

Be careful I took this deal 2 weeks ago. First bill came through said £32 discount had not been applied. After an hour on the phone they said it had been adjusted. After more problems with only been offered Spotify paid subscriptions on there offers page and it should've been 12 months free. I explained the woes about the account and the advisor said nothing's been adjusted its a £32 a month contract. Even though there website still clearly said £19.80 a month. After another 5 calls they couldn't work out why it was only offering me paid subscriptions for Spotify. Every advisor tells you something different. I cancelled after only 5 days. They are a bunch of clowns. The worst customer service ever. Good luck if you decide to join this bunch of jokers.

Been with them less than a month and they literally have the worst customer service. They lie straight up then you are left chasing the results. I've had to talk to them more times in the past month than I talked to O2 in the last 5 years.
But saying that, the more you complain the more better and cheaper your contract gets.
I bought the double data simo deal recently, (500min, Unlimited Text, 10GB Data) for £17. Through Quidco it would've made it around £12. Which is actually pretty good for the value.
However they F up'd several times, so I started complaining to them and got my PAC code, they offered to reduce price from £17 to £10!
They obviously didn't change it so I had to keep on chasing them again and again on chat and on phone to make them change it to the price they said they would. Every time I complained they kept adding bill credit. Now I have £42 bill credit . Effective works out £7 a month )
In summary, if you have got the time and patience to deal with this then go for it! it's good value and good 4Gspeeds. I get 60mbps.

I would love a Voda deal myself on Life mobile at the moment, but in my area coverage is patchy. And from research it seems voda are the best in the area.
Am not into these esaver deals sending off bills etc. Just want a straightforward monthly SIM only plan on voda without paying a fortune for it
Looks like theres a line down the middle separating the £19.20 deal from the Spotify deal!
Ignore, just seen the landing page.
I would say both EE and Vodafone in my experience can both be pretty useless and not so helpful.
I've binned EE based on the so called retention deals and so many lies and conveniently not having logs of calls when offered deals.
20gb data, unlimited calls and texts with spotify. For £22.50
£60 quidco.
Although quidco never tracked... slightly annoyed. Cleared my browser and disabled ad block, not sure why it never tracked.
Wish I went through e2save now.
Guessing the private session is clean on cookies etc when you start
I find Vodafone and their customer service all great.
Top cash back is showing as pending so hopefully I'll get the £80 or so it was quoting.
Even with all the extras I think for £19 it's a good deal. I've never been with Vodafone but I have the 30 days to try them out
I'm paying £8.50 for unlimited txts/calls and 5gb data, which works for me and I no longer care about "Wi-Fi", as the 5gb is more than enough for me.
Network is top notch. Got 65 down and 28 up on 4g last week in London.
Customer service is patchy but they (eventually) sorted my problem. Get it it writing...(ie save live chat logs)
Not funny, but I'm a cruel man, I did chuckle lol
3 coverage is better than it used to be but it's either there or not, Vodafone at least has 2G so you don't miss making an emergency call if you're in the back of beyond.
3 is best if you're a city dweller lol
