Would you care to advise how you obtained this deal please? I'd prefer to avoid the hassle of cashback too.

Well, because they are deceiving the customers, are a kind of scammers. My wife applied first for this deal and after few hours got an email abut their credit check failure. She called them and the so called customer service told her the she did not passed the credit check but they can offer her a virgin mobile plan. We panicked a bit and immediately we opened trial accounts with Equifax and Experian to check her credit score. Her credit score on both sites was excellent. We imagined that might be something dodgy but i decided anyway to apply myself for this offer. Once again i received the same email about the credit check failure.
In my mind are two scenarios, one is that they might have an innocent technical failure,(i really doubt), or they use a profit loosing deal so they can get free advertise on sites like this, increase their customer base, making few bucks form premium rate phone call (13p/min with a 10-20 min conversation, recovering some money for the loosing profit on this deal) and trying to sell the customers a different product. I do suspect that they randomly give this offer to few customers, in this way they are not totally illegal.
I'm planning to complain to Ofcom and OFT.
Good luck !

Has anyone managed to purchase this? I keep failing their internal checks and I have no idea why.
I have bought the 12GB for £19.20 & went into Voda to get a Sim as couldn't be bothered waiting.....
It comes with the entertainment package for sure, however:
I checked my first Vodafone bill today and it's £32, not £19.20!!
Spoke to them and they said they have discounted it to £19 a month now instead, it hasn't updated on my account YET......so I'd advise logging into your new account and checking straight away.
They also said I could PAC my number across THEN still activate the entertainments as it's linked to your account not whatever your phone number is; but I won't hold my breath on that going smoothly
If you're already a Spotify premium user you can't really go wrong with this deal.

I rang the normal sales number on the website. I was going to ring later as I was going to get my brother to get the sim on his name as he is already with EE. The EE agent told me to wait and spoke to the manager and he authorised it. he told me that if I rang back there was no guarantee that I would be allowed this deal.
16gb is quite good and you don't have to wait for cashback etc.

My 24 month contract with Vodafone ran out last month and I haven't applied for any upgrades, etc. yet.
Would I be able to take advantage of this deal and still keep my number?

any particular EE number you called? what swung it for you, you think? or just got lucky with the manager?

I see how cashback gets a raw deal sometimes if the above example is how the user has gone about getting his cash back.

Hi
I applied for this deal. on mobiles.co.uk website everything was setup correctly on their side but Vodafone were charging me 37 pounds a month and 37 pounds for 1 day? when I rang them up they said we will do you a favour and reduce it by 30% but you have to fill a form in to get the discount. I referred them to their own website that said 40% off and they told me they don't have access to the website. so I closed the call and rang back and they said the same thing. if you get the deal great but be careful and as soon as the sim comes through check the monthly charge online and check the letter they send you. if it's wrong ring mobiles.co.uk to cancel it. it takes 5 days to cancel the order.
if you get the correct monthly cost from Vodafone then the redemption from mobiles.co.uk is a great deal.
in the end I ordered a £16.50 deal from EE 16gb data unlimited mins unlimited text. you can only get this deal usually if your an existing customer. I did manage to get this Deal even though I am not an EE customer but their manager allowed it. just thought this info might help someone.

you being sarcastic mate?
how do you mean change them? you can deposit a cheque just like you can deposit cash into your/someone's account. it just takes a few days for the cheque to go through to have access to the money. you can't directly swap the cheque for cash over the counter if that's what you mean. but as far as I know, you don't get charged for depositing a cheque into a bank account.

I have a bank account, but..you can change them for free?
EN1GMA
23 Aug 16#23
right, as the poster below said, you didn't take the cheque to a bank? could be why you had issues as banks take cheques for free to deposit in ones account.

the money shop its not bank!!! Any reason you don't have bank account? it can be that the money shop tried to rip you off? have you seen people in shops? most dodgy scambags which I ever seen in my town, normally I am trying to avoid such places like: the money shop. cash converters, other small shops which do buy or sell second hand items.

I had a very bad experience with themoneysshop, I had 2 cheques 15£ each, I when tot them to get cash and they charged me 5£ for each cheque and after 1 week I received mails and calls from them because one cheque was rejected by bank, they wanted to charge me 40£ fees because of this, after severall calls I accepted to pay them just another 20£, In the and I got nothing, 0 £ for 30£ cheques + the hassle with the cun..ts . so cheque for me..never again! They send you cheques and loose loads of money to change them into money, so really the cashback is much less than 140£ for this deal. Sorry about my bad grammar

20gb of data allowance with Vodafone sounds like a challenge, I imagine most will struggle to get through 2gb.

Thanks for posting this. I used it to order this afternoon and received confirmation early this evening that it has been accepted and dispatched.
Regardless of the cashback, this is a good deal for Spotify users as the net cost of £12/month is good for unlimited minutes and 20GB of 4g data on 12 month contract. Any cashback will be a bonus.

ive read the stuff about what you need to do to get cash back. what issues do these cash back companies throw that people are finding. seems easy on the face of it, especially being able to simply email the bills over instead of posting. emailing atleast leaves a proper digital trail to prove it was sent.

When I left vodafone about 6 months ago I was on a £11 a month contract, I left with 30days notice and my final bill was £76!, too 2 months for them to correct the error.

how does the free 12 months now tv offer work? do you get a code? is the now tv offer for movies or entertainment package? I think I might for it. the data is 4g yeah? ive been on the link but couldn't see 4g mentioned. looks like the site pays out for cashback and its got a uswitch retailer of the year award so that gives me abit of confidence. plus, after the first year, im sure retentions will be able to beat this deal directly from Vodafone.

Not a clue, the email they wrote states your pay monthly sim card is out of stock and we DON'T have a date when it will next be available. Anyone who needs a contract asap as theirs is expiring should avoid this deal.

Thank you all for the feedback about your cashback experiences. I will go for it, as even if the cashback doesn't materialise then it's still good value at £12 per month (£22 - £10 Spotify). But will keep my hopes up as there's reports of positive experiences. Thank you again.
