If you're on the lookout for a cheap but decent garden light (not PIR), this gets good reviews. Nice and bright apparently, unlike many other 10W floodlights.
Also good if you're into insects, as this reviewer says: "I was wanting to venture down the moth collecting avenue and was unsure as to how get the collection started. Bought this bad boy and slapped it up on the gable wall and bingo, moths from around the world are flocking to marvel at its splendour."

if moths love light so much why don't they come out during the daytime?

Be very careful of Ebay ones, may dont have the earth lead attached to the casing internally so are a risk of electrocution , at least the Screwfix ones will be electrically sound
They also lie about the wattage as well

Yeah, I had two of them up at a height of around 20 feet (on each gable end of the house) and it wasn't much fun trying to sort that out.
I'd already fitted 3 halogen units (plus bulb changes) over the period of 6 years since the house was built too!
Thought that LED's would be the answer to my problems....
So far, the 10w units I bought from Screwfix appear to be very good and they at least have a 2 year warranty..

Id be pretty annoyed as its at least an hours work to refit one. I guess if it goes ill get one from the shop so can take it back.

I hope for you they keep working of course but the failure rates are very high in general - was really disappointing when both of them failed during the same week...

CPC have that light under two codes differnt prices Search finds the more expensive one!
The lamps are sold by the 2,3.4.5.6.7,10,20 etc.
Yes the leads are very short (though this seems to be true for a lot of this type of lamp) but they're being used in a workshop, so I just need a regular junction box (<£1) for each lamp.
Delivery took around 1 week.

Hence why they quote up to a month delivery. Hmmm... :man:
Edit: Did you read the reviews? Apparently very short fly leads on those lamps with no easy way to replace them. You probably need a submarine connector (get them from any reliable electrical supplier for about £8 each) so you extend the fly lead safely ... but at £8 each extra per lamp, they don't seem so cheap any longer.
how easy is it to fit a PIR to these and should there be anything specific should look for?

I use one of these indoors. Put it on the floor facing upwards then go to poundland for an expanding laundry basket, the type which packs into a flat circle but then springs into a sort of barrel shape. Looks quite classy lamp for less than tenner.

Yeah, buy one of these and leave it on all night like my neighbour does - it's like a searchlight onto the front of my house!
I can confirm the earthing issue with cheap eBay lights. I bought one and it came with a stupidly short cable (about 6 inches) which I had to replace. When I opened it up I found the earth wire was not connected. Seller couldn't give a toss - offered me a £2 refund if I removed my negative feedback.

They do have a earth lead , but they are not connected internally !
Can't find any on ebay 50W with PIR for £14, most are £20-30 - do you have a link to those you bought ?
10W just doesn't cut the mustard

Just wait a few weeks or a month or two... then it'll stop working... like mine, and my friends... these 10w are so much better made but the light output from the eBay LEDs was amazing.... while they lasted :disappointed:

All are LED's and perfect quality. It does have the proper Earth lead.
My builder was quite impressed with the lights, he ordered a few for himself.

Yes, I've voted HOT. HOT. HOT too for the moths (as they won't get hot themselves with this cool LED )
