I picked up a Van Goch and a Picasso at a car boot sale for £50 the pair but like your purchases they aren't generally available. :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you need a Gyro to play Pokémon Go though? I thought it only applied if you wanted to use the camera to capture the Pokémon. The app should still work by switching off AR whilst playing it, shouldn't it. I must admit though, the omission of a gyro these days in phones baffles me. You'd think it would be standard in all phones.

The camera on this is disappointinting, I have never owned a phone that is so slow to capture a picture. The lag is bad. I think it compares fairly well to the iPhone 6 Plus in terms of size, weight etc so it is probably a phablet. The plastic frame is prone to picking up marks too. I think there are probably better options out there.

Pretty similar, possibly slightly better in lower light and it has a laser focus thing. Really not a big difference. I do notice the G4Plus gets hot when using the camera.
Dual SIM on the G4Plus is a bonus (not all versions of it are dual sim so check before buying) and both sims are 3G capable at the same time.
Earpiece audio (the built in earpiece, not plug in headphones) on G4Plus is not as good as MotoX Play, it is a rather poor earpiece for call quality in my opinion.

.. I considered the Redmi Note 3 . Has a huge battery, but the launcher is some weird proprietary thing. Moto x play is stock android. Also , Moto make it easy to unlock the bootloader, whereas the Redmi is complicated. Moto X Play has a lot of rom development, including official Cyanogenmod support

Well done wasting peoples time. Nothing even close to that price mark again. The curse of HotUKDeals, misinformation.

The power and volume buttons are a bit wobbly , but stick it in one of the Tudia cases you can get on Amazon and it's perfect. Great battery life and the camera is immense. Same as the z5 I think.
In short - the G4 plus camera is slightly better. I am not sure about the G4 v G4 Plus but I don't think there is a lot in it.

Compares closely to the Moto G4 Plus 32gb that I have, no compass or NFC (I found the missing compass made google maps harder to use when in London recently), but out the two, assuming I didn't need dual sim then I'd go for the Moto X Play (which I also have)
Battery life is good, at end of a medium use day I'd have 30 to 50% left. When I recently left it on with no sim card inserted and nothing synced I got 12 days of it left running (no calls or any real actual use carried out, just turned on)

Fair assessment, but for me dual sim is a must, it makes the monthly phone bill cheaper, it's the Moto G4 trump card.

Nablor. I have the dual sim version of this phone and have no such issue with the power and volume buttons. Maybe it's because my last phone was a Moto g gen 2 and the buttons were in a similar place... But it's the first time I have seen that as a complaint

my original comment was for people who wants/need to save as much money as possible and still own a decent phone. never claimed that i got it in a shop and gave an honest answer that i bought it on ebay (where very often one can get high end lumias for ridiculously low prices nowadays due to unpopularity/lack of aps etc) . For you it may not be a relevant info or it may be something you already know, but there may still be someone out there who may not know. no need to be sarcastic i didnt want to hurt you in any way. have a great day xxx

I've found the lack of gyroscopes on this phone a baffling design choice. It's slightly too large to use comfortably. I can only recommend it for those wanting prolonged battery life.

I purchased my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro via aliexpress afew months ago.
The process was pretty much exactly the same as buying a phone through an online company from the UK, if anything it was more efficient.
It cost £120, but pretty much the same specs as the best phones on the market.
It comfortably holds its own against my wife's galaxy note 4.
If you can pluck up the courage to order via aliexpress from a reliable company that sell on there, I'd HIGHLY recommend it.

if you want best bang for your money and you are on a tight budget..... go for the (now a bit obsolete but very capable) nokia lumia phones. You can get for example Lumia 830 for £55 . No phone on this planet (for £55) can beat that thing. have a nice day

I have one of these, it a great media device for music and watching video (nice loud front facing speaker, nice screen), and very good battery, but personally i find it a bit cumbersome to use for browsing, etc. I was expecting it to be pretty nippy with no skin, but was disappointed myself.
It's a heavy chunky Monkey too.

Brand new in white with 2 year warranty at John Lewis for only £20 more. The black seems to have sold out.
It seems to be very similar to the Moto G4 which you can get for £140ish brand new (and dual SIM from Motorola or if you buy the white version from elsewhere)... if you don't need NFC and/or compass the Moto G4 may be worth considering.
