Thanks for the advice. I bought one today. Will return tomorrow as it is still unopened . Hope they do not make too much fuss about returning and waste my time. I generally buy knives from tkmaxx. Have very good quality knives at low prices.

Has the name 'Russell Hobbs' been sold to some Chinese company like quite a few brand names have ? The quality of their products seems to have deteriorated considerably. I bought a set of roasting trays and a set of knives about 3 months ago, they are now all in the bin. The non stick finish on one of the trays lasted for 2 uses before flaking and peeling, the other 2 lasted only a couple more. The knives were washed in a dishwasher 3 or 4 times before spots of rust started appearing. Poor quality from a name that was once a trusted brand. I have since bought trays from Lidl and a Tefal roasting pan and all are still going strong.
