I know this has expired but anyone know of a way I could get this deal or a similar one on the Mi band 2?

Managed to bag one early this morning and got a jade spare band too. The pain is if it gets caught in customs and you get the import fee plus the extra collection charge thing which is sometimes £8-9 just to tell you what the fee is and how to pay it #ripoff For the money the reviews are excellent. It is what it is and more expensive and better featured ones are what they are too. Pointless comparing a £23 device with a £85+ one in my book.

I didn't like the strap on the Mi Band 2, as it's more difficult to open and close than a normal watch strap.
My Fitbit Charge HR has a standard watch strap, much more convenient.
I can't see why Xiaomi couldn't put a charging port at the back of the watch, instead of forcing people to remove the watch from the band for charging. Granted, it will probably only need to be charged once a month.
My Fitbit Charge HR has a charging port at the back. However, it needs charging every 5 days or so (in continuous HR monitoring mode), and the strap is not removable.
The heart rate monitor on my Mi Band 2 was quite unreliable, and was showing nothing quite often, or take 10 seconds to show a reading. Not everybody needs continuous HR monitoring indeed, and it dramatically reduces the battery life, but it's very useful when exercising.
On the Mi Band 2, the screen is supposed to switch on when the watch is rotated (in a standard "looking at a watch" motion). However, it does not work most of the time. It works pretty much all the time on the Fitbit.
For people looking for a step counter and occasional "on demand" HR readings, the Xiaomi is a good option and very good value for money. Anybody looking for a fitness band with more advanced data and continuous HR monitoring should look elsewhere (and it will cost a lot more).
I am looking forward to the Mi Band 3 from Xiaomi, or firmware and apps updates to possibly resolve some of the shortcomings.

Wow a mixture of high expectations and half truths. Let's see
Constant HR
Yes it does. Links into endomondo and others.
Can you set a pace for running
Yes
Can it warn for a set HR limit
Yes
Does it show the time when you tilt your wrist
Yes, just don't do it every 2 seconds or it thinks you're exercising or doing street mime and suitably ignores you
Does it give x amount of detail on every notification from your phone
No, but enough to tell you answer a call or a message for later.
Can it see the future
Yes of course send me money and I'll show you how.
Why can't it beam me up
Because you're probably a space cadet already (possibly)
Is cheap, it works (it talks in Chinese on the app -can't win them all but it is in English)
If you want to splurge plenty on expensive tat go right ahead. If you want something genuinely useful for training this is great.
How do you know
I've got one, delivered in 6 days for £27ish
Top tips
Don't download Google play version go to xiaomi website for latest.
Create account on website too not on app
Press little running man for constant HR and other settings.
A lazy Google will show you all the tricks to get it working.
1 to beam up, cheers and relax
