Yep this is the "old" first gen 3DSXL with the not-so-great 3D. There must be so many confused grandparents/aunts/uncles with the naff naming of the 3DS/2DS range.

You can change the shell but it's not an easy job at all and would cost you about 40 - 50 in parts and labour depending on which she'll you go for. Can get clear , pikachu, Mario etc
