it is better to buy a special edition 3ds xl, for resale value. There will be Pokemon SE in November, on pre-order now.

Might be a "late" launch but they are cutting costs, especially with new controller design, it wont be as expensive as you think. They are at a loss right now and need to claw back, they have good developers on board so must be a good shot! Wii u failed but I see it as genius the wireless gamepad is amazing, stable connection. Problem is I think kids love it more cause its like a gaming tablet!

Mentioning that you don't get value for the cost compared to the competition is a valid point. These things really could do with being cheaper when the tech from most of it is incredibly outdated. Sure you buy it for the games, but most other platforms don't really have a shortage of things to play. While I have an older XL, I still would put other gaming platforms in front of it since you have tech and the games (although the vita does unfortunately lack which is a shame considering the hardware is vastly superior).
Plus I had to buy a circle pad replacement since the construction of it is extremely flimsy (as a non smash player who played their 3ds from only time to time). No idea of the new one is any better in that regard.

There's hardly anything available retail but I've got over 100 games on my Vita there's some fantastic pick up and play games on the PSN. I've just downloaded Loony Toons Galactic Sports and Spy Chameleon which are both great fun. I've also had and still getting very fun playable games for it through PS+. Ultratron free this month is great to play on Vita. P.S Before you ask yes I have a 64GB card

Thanks for posting. Just ordered one for my wife. I assume I'll need to invest in a charger and a case for it? Can any kind soul direct me to the best place for this, as I'm pretty clueless about how much they should cost. Cheers.

Go for the official Nintendo 3ds charger. Don't pay more than £6.99, click and collect at Argos if you have one close, alternatively, Curry's is the same price for click and collect. Or order from Game online, same price and they deliver - in store price is more expensive though
