Similarly Whole Earth has palm oil in it, as well as what is unnervingly described as "Approved Non Organic Ingredients".
To my mind I can't see any counter argument to the notion that meridian is good stuff, on the grounds that it's peanut butter made out of peanuts.
And thanks, OP, I'll take a look

I've been eating peanut butter since 1976 (precise I know but that's when my Auntie gave me some to try, which I thought was made by Gale's but can't find any reference to it anywhere) and Meridian is bottom of the pile along with Sun Pat (they taste very different to each other, but both equally nasty). I'd much rather have Pip&Nut or Whole Earth. Meridian is almost devoid of taste as a peanut butter, very bland, I used to get 1KG tubs of it occasionally now there's much better tasting peanut butters around I haven't bought some in 10 years or so.

I guess you're used to eating contaminated peanut butter full of palm oil, vegetable oil and salt. I would hazard a guess that 75% of people would prefer the flavour to any other. It's certainly the nearest I've found to making your own from just a big pile of peanuts.

Why in earth would they stock peanut butter in the dental aisle

Haha, I'm guessing they classify it as Health as in Health & Beauty. One side is dental the other side is full of (overpriced) sports supplements where this PB can be found.
Opening post
Found at Tesco Purley, in the Dental aisle opposite the toothpaste with the sports supplements, they must have at least 100 tubs in stock!
Expiry was APR 2017 on the few I looked at.
Smooth only, couldn't find any Crunchy.
