Been looking at LG 49UH750V 49" for quite a while now and AO.com currently has £150 cash back on this TV.
Since their price match is very good and they can match most of retailers I went on pricespy to try find the same model at cheaper price. Cheapest found was at Appliances Electronics for £719.
Anyone know if the HDR is suitable for gaming or not? Some have to be in movie mode for it and aren't quick enough for smooth gaming.

you'd be better off getting this from Richer Sounds for £799, as you get the 6 year warranty thrown in... it's an extra purchase from AO
AO charge a minimum of £5 per month (impossible to find exact care price) - if you ignore the first year, that's 60 months @ £5 = £300, taking your total outlay here to £1019, or £869 after your cashback

Yes, we all buy tvs for a warranty. Going with your reasoning, we should only buy tvs with long lasting warranty then?
If we talking long term warranty, this tv comes with 2 year warranty (EU law) and if you were to purchase AO care plan after 2 years, that would make it about the same price. Bear in mind that AO care plan is an extensive cover and covers things that normal warranty doesn't cover e.g. accidental damage.
Anyway I posted this because it's by far the cheapest price available for this particular model, £230 less than what you would pay with Richer Sound or anyone else. That's a huge discount.

I've not onced had a tv pack up within 5 years and probably get a new set every 3-4 years anyway and if they do pack up its usually in the first few months or not at all from my understanding

Try arguing the two years' cover with AO. These are guys who charge a 20% plus restocking fee for a box-opened TV within 14 days of purchase.
Richer Sounds have probably the best value for money extended warranty in the UK - 10% of price for an extra 5 years' cover AND if you don't use it you can get it all back in the last month. Plus, their CS leaves everyone else in the shade. I was allowed to audition two sets of speakers at home before I settled for the pair I currently have. Try that with AO or Currys.
