Could I swap this ssd with the bigger one? Would this laptop good for a photoshop, lightroom?

The hard drive is a hybrid drive (normal hard drive + SSHD) so should be pretty fast. If you want better replace with SSD and replace optical tray with hard drive caddy for the hydrid drive. Access is awkard but explained in hardware manual on this page. https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/documents/pd100795

I'm running photoshop and lightroom on an AMD A8 with 8gb ram and both run very well so you'll be fine with this

Apparently RAM configuration isn't great. 8+4GB

sorry if it's already been answered elsewhere ..
I'm after some expert opinion - how does this (amd a10) compare with i3 or i5 6300u? esp looking at the i3 & i5 hp models on tesco

An i5 6200u or 6300u will beat it, but those aren't full HD models at this price at Tesco

I would normally stick to Intel but AMD may provide a price advantage...but for pure speed the i5 6300U is better (sorry, I cannot comment on graphics but at this price point we're not talking about gaming laptops) http://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2542&cmp[]=2609

Has anyone found similar to the above with an i5 instead of a10 CPU ?

Not currently. This was at weekend and been cheaper before.
If you've something to trade in and don't mind wait to get some cashback there is a HP deal that's about £315 that's impressive, stick a hard drive in the spare sata bay and top up the ram maybe. Could work out about same price for 16gb ram 256gb ssd and 1tb hard drive
I bought this laptop to enjoy playing a few games and general internet use. I read lots of reviews online before selecting this model but the model being sold by tesco is NOT the one that gets used in reviews. This is a hum-strung low powered version which DOES NOT HAVE the inbuilt video card, all it has is the combination APU/GPU chip. This means it has LESS THAN HALF of the graphic capabilities it should have. To make the APU/GPU unit even slower they have used odd sized memory modules. Instead of using 2 x 6gb ram units (which would let the APU run in dual channel mode, giving a nice bump is graphics bandwidth), they have used a 4gb & an 8gb unit, meaning the underpowered APU/GPU is held back to it's slowest possible speed. I tried to run futuremark benchmark and the spydiver test gave me 7fps..... If you don't want to go anything graphics orientated this laptop will be fine, the keyboard bends a little bit when you are typing but that was the only fault i could find.

Pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't one know from the CPU model, AMD A10-8700P , if it had inbuilt GPU or not? Or is this Tesco review implying there are variants of the AMD A10-8700P processor and this laptop has a lower performance chip?
I don't understand.

The Lenovo Ideapad 500 is available with or without a Radeon R7 GPU, which is a separate device to the AMD CPU and more powerful that the graphics capability built into the A10 CPU.
The model Tesco is selling does not have the R7.

Does anyone know if this is has an anti glare screen? Can't see it mentioned on the Tesco site.
