I tried to order one from amazon but after 4 weeks waiting I canceled and got it direct from droidbox with next day delivery (optional)
the activate the code you just need to share on Facebook or Twitter when prompted

It's the UK seller droidbox. its rebranded by them I assume so it can come with a warranty? that was the only thing putting me off ordering from China.
everything about the device is gpd xd, it just has subtle droidbox branding in the firmware

Looks good, the blurb on the site says it can play certain pc games (I assume that's streamed), is there a subscription involved or is that over your own home network?

Ive got one of these from Droidbox - they do play Pc games via Dosbox Turbo and Scumm Vm.

so far I have downloaded and played resident evil code veronica, crazy taxi for the dreamcast and smash bros for the n64 they all play amazing.. code veronica is a bit jumpy on the opening cut scene but the game play is spot on plenty of options to change the quality of game play and smoothness of game play. so far played all 40 games I have downloaded from megadrive to ps1 and dreamcast

Now the PlayStation Vita has been hacked it won't be long before all emulators will be up & running on that. Thought I would mention it as they are very cheap second hand these days.
By all means though this device is meant to be very good.

We had a similar situation about a year ago when Rejuvenate released, nothing spectacular came from it though. Hopefully devs can introduce some CFW.

I got a PSP Go just for emulation and it is perfect for it, playing through my old GBA games at the moment, and the odd NES game. The Vita will have better emulators due to having more power, but it will take a while as the scene is relatively new

not yet I'm afraid mate. I have about 60 games on the device now and the ones I have played for over an hour are- sonic adventure 2 dc resident evil cv dc resident evil 3 dc and smash bros for the n64 all have worked perfectly aside from some fmv jumping in some games... other then that it's mostly going to be used for nes , snes , megadrive and ps1 all have these have been faultless with the exception of worms on the gba which wouldn't start

Don't see the point really... retro games are generally free now anyways or at least cheap so what are u paying for?... the console?... any device can run these.

when you say cheap do you mean to buy a copy of an old game? most popular retro games cost a small fortune just for the cart. in some cases more then this product alone...
as far as i'm aware there are no emulators on the market that offer the portability and ease of use as this machine. something the size of a nintendo 3ds that can fit in your pocket and offers instant access to 1000s of games, no searching or going on dodgy websites, they are all in the app provided.

you are quite right! you can get these mobile and pc, the main winner for this is its a purpose made gaming device, instead of relying on touchscreen or an external controller it has everything built in and for a device from china its really well made. the only downside is no Bluetooth (grrrr)
