Any1 else have issues cleaning these? manual says to use paper towel with drop of olive oil yet doesn't work with chicken / bacon. instead I resort to using damp cloth but over time find the unit starts to rust in areas... been through 2 now!

yeah, I had some stubborn stuck-on bits that didn't come off very easily the very first time using it....can only get worse over time as the coating wears thinner. these are ok (for the price), but some of the 'best purchase ever!' reviewers do tend to get a bit too excited about what these things actually do

I just use kitchen roll while it's still warm for bacon. but chicken seems to burn so it needs a good scrub after, use the white non scratch scouring pads

Someone before mentioned you should put a wet paper tissue on the grill and leave it for 5-10 minutes, then wipe away after. This does work but the grill still smells. This is probably not good for you but I prefer to cover the grill in tinfoil, works wonders.

I've had mine years without issues cleaning, use kitchen towel like stated, but turn the unit on so the grill warms up. it will soften anything burnt on and the kitchen towel will wipe it right off with ease. just mind your fingers on the hot grill!

okey, i have to say george foreman products are realllyyyyyy long lasting, even though the grills are not suitable to taken off for dishwasher, maybe that is what makes them better built. but now lets talk about negative point, as a person who had 4-5 gf grills over the last 15 years (in different houses, so they all are working) , i have to say this (5 portion) titles are soooooo wrong, it misleads you, it is only 5 portion of tiny chicken breast pieces stuffed into the grill, so basically it is only suitable for 2 people usage. so if you are after a grill for you family, you should look for one of those GF 8 or 10 portion grills. nothing smaller.
