This is a lovely September break which has you in Toronto for 4 nights, 2 nights in Niagara Falls and then New York for 3 nights. This can probably be replicated at cheaper times such as February but it will be pretty damn cold then! Flights are all with Westjet/Delta which are good airlines and baggage is included. I've also included car hire so you can drive in Toronto and Niagara.
18-22nd September
On 18th September you'll fly direct to Toronto with Westjet. You collect your hire car and the hotel I've picked for 4 nights is the Comfort Inn North. This room sleeps 4 people so is large enough and it also has breakfast and free parking. It's not in the centre of Toronto but as you have a car you don't need to be and you could always use public transport if you didn't want to take the car. Head to see some of the sports events Toronto is famous for or head to the lake for some lovely Autumnal pictures.
22-24th September
On 22nd you'll take the short drive to Niagara. I've based you at a really good reviewed place, the Rex Motel which is rated No1 on TripAdvisor but I've also checked the reviews on other verified sites and it comes up really good. Forget places like the 'luxury' Sheraton on the Falls, unless you have a room with a view which you'll pay extra for it really isn't worth the cost.
On 24th September you'll drive back to Toronto (to avoid one way car rental fees) and drop you car at the airport and catch your flight to New York. You will have time to so this as your flight isn't until lunch so there is no rush.
Once in New York you will stay for 3 nights at the Marrakech Hotel on the Upper West Side, New York which is no Central Park. You need to book this using lastminute.com 'secret hotels' but it then actually tells you the hotel name and the description gives it away as it's easy to figure it out! You are ideally places for 3 nights of exploring the bright lights and attractions of NY.
On 27th you'll catch your flight home.

we got return Canada flights with British Airways in the holidays for £350 each. our resort hotel is £800 for for of us for two weeks. bringing ours to £550 a person.... however our car hire is £550 for a full size car for two weeks. I doubt very much that under £100 for 9 days includes insurance, car hire in Canada without insurance is a huge no no. you WILL get screwed on every little mark, plus you're not covered for windscreen, tyres, interior etc.
I don't get how this deal has got hot?

When I went to Canada and hired a car for the Rockies we used a separate insurance it's called insurance4carhire which covers the excess. Of course the car hire deal doesn't include extra insurance at this price and I would never never use the insurance sold by car hire companies which is overpriced IMO. Insurance4carhire is just one of similar places that I have used to cover the excess and when I needed to claim (not in Canada) everything was fine.
This isn't car hire for 9 days it's only for the Canada part which is 6 days as you then fly from Toronto to New York and I haven't included a car for New York.
Toronto flights are frequently under £300 and when I went to Calgary/Calgary our flights were just over £350. Obviously this deal is a little more expensive as you are flying back from New York and have 3 nights in New York. It would be easy to adjust this trip for 4 people and of course that would bring the cost per person down, the hotel I've picked in Toronto for example sleeps 4 but I've based this deal on 2 people.

The short trip from the airport to niagara falls is around one and a half hours, some lovely views mind. We stayed at the shereton on the falls on the 15th floor, with amazing views over both falls for 3 nights, then to Toronto for 2 nights with views over the lake. We flew with BA from heathrow. Hotels, flights, transfers cost for 2 was £1700 with Trailfinders. This was oct 2014. The falls are amazing but 2 nights is plenty, could have spent more time in Toronto, the CN Tower is fantastic, had a lovely meal before going down to the observation deck with glass floors.
Great find, great price, wish i could go back again , but saving for somewhere else .
