Thought one year warranty was standard with most tvs? Consumer regulations potentially offers up to six years anway and ime it is extremely rare for tvs (lcd especially) to break anyway. I have a lcd from 2004 that still works fine. The most common cause of failure i would guess is people being clumsy/rough with them and breaking the screen....

the back light can pack in on these kind of tvs

Useless information. No citations, no proof specific to this model.

not on about model,on about in general. LCD screens are back lit, and if run tvs on high contrast or in vivid mode it shortens the lifespan.
as this is cheaper tv,then common sense would suggest these be more prone to packing in first.

So running something on flat knacker shortens the life span? Well **** a duck.

Florescent backlit LCDs of old maybe. LED backlit are pretty robust and reliable. The weakest point on a modern tv is most likely the power board from a reliability point of view.
If the TV is any good from a visual and sound point of view is anybody's guess.

Cheap TV is cheap.

Doesn't even really look like a deal, same price everywhere I've found. Just a cheap TV for an unsurprisingly cheap price.

So unknown brand from a fairly unknown supplier and not that cheap either.
Think this deal is worth a swerve around tbh

Very true. But there is a limit to how cheap you can make these. It's probably using a Hisense panel (nobody to my knowledge is making cheaper ones) which when you take into account duty, Vat, retailer mark up and shipping doesn't leave massive amounts to make the thing.
But yes stretching the £90 (nearly a fifth) for a Hisense is probably the way to go.

don't hisense use Samsung panels?

I have a Blaupunkt that has a Samsung panel. Not sure about these though.

Very cheap, but how cheerful? £400 is still a lot if it's a stinker. Very difficult to comment without user feedback or professional reviews, surely they could send one or two out if it really is a budget bargain?
Common sense suggests it's not.
