I like the steam controller... but the pad isn't fast enough for fps games so it probably won't be good with doom... unless you can edit the settings ?

Doom isn't the sort of game I'd play with any sort of controller that doesn't have WASD keys and a mouse.

I actually have both steam controller and doom, tried playing it on steam link in the lounge using the steam controller and its an awful experience, good price but its an odd bundle indeed

I would actually really like to get a steam controller but even this is still too pricey for me and I really object to the fairly expensive shipping charge, as it's essentially a forced shipping fee since steam is online only so you can only have it shipped anyway.
Would still like one though as while I wouldn't use it for FPS games as the bundle appears to suggest, I have heard it is great for bringing more relaxed gaming experiences to the living room like point and click adventures, a genre I really like but find a bit awkward on the trackpad I usually use with my HTPC....

Funny thing is, even when you launch Doom it says best played with mouse and keyboard. So it is an odd choice.
