It's reassuring to certain people to be able to blame the prevalence of a medical condition on a specific behaviour, or indeed on the consuming of a certain product or food-stuff or activity. The reality, however is somewhat different.
I'd hate you to think that avoiding a carbonated sugary drink, protected you from 'catching' this condition in much the way avoiding a Bacardi Breezer would protect you from liver disease.
