Was looking for a cheap pair of leather work shoes, thought these were a good price and available in a range of sizes at this price.

Despite your user name, I'm not going to trust your judgement.
Clarks might not be all they used to be, but they are a very big step up from typical Matalan shoes.

For an average person, yes, but not my son. Brantano own brand 4 weeks. Matalan 6 weeks.
Clarks 6-10 months. So Clarks work out the lowest yearly cost. Although on one pair the glue came off after 3 months, but they gave me a £10 voucher. I end up buying Clarks for him.
Before you ask, I do not know what he does. I wish I knew.
These shoes would last me 2 years+

Nearly got these thinking that they were steel toe.

This was the same price in the Clarks sale for many weeks.
If you want cheap shoes go to Shoezone or Matalan.

I am not providing judgment. If you want cheap shoes I stated where they are available. I did not state they were good. I do not consider £24 as being cheap. I purchased the Indian made Lair Cap shoes for £24 from Clarks sale this summer and for £20 the year before and they lasted my son the school year (10 months).

Surely these will last a lot longer than 10 months.

I bought these from Clark's for about the same price, I have a 8G and they are a bit narrower in the toe than other G width Clark's shoes that I have bought also not as hard wearing.
