Other cinemas should do the same. I went to Showcase last week to see Finding Dory, in 2D. £18.80 for 2 tickets is ridiculous.

But while people pay it they will keep charging those prices. With kids films it's always worth waiting until they move to the pound clubs though even those can be expensive though Cineworld are around £1.80 a ticket and let's be honest if you we didn't take the kids to new films when they came out and waited they would be none the wiser. Our two now say will wait for the pound club

I've a feeling Stoke are doing this as they miss out on a LOT of the bigger films

Please note this is in response to the Odeon at the nearby retail park having done £5/ticket for the last 6 years or so. They tried charging £10 a ticket but it was empty until they lowered their prices. I remember watching Star Wars during release week and it being practically empty in my screening.

I always wondered how people on ebay sell cinema codes so cheap. I always buy from there works out alot cheaper

They are actually keeping their Saverday Tuesday and other promotions

Can't say I'm surprised. Nearly £10 per ticket and you have to pay for parking, versus £5 per ticket and free parking a mile down the road.

But you don't have to put up with groggy floors at cineworld, only lovely chairs and really top notch screens/sound.

True enough. When you go to the cinema regularly though, the price difference quickly mounts up. Once a week for a month, and it's £40 for two vs £84 (adding a couple of quid each visit for parking). There hasn't been many films worth the extra expense this year. For the few that were, I went to the IMAX in Telford instead.
I'll give Cineworld a go next time. If it's as good as the Telford one then it should be a vast improvement on the Odeon.

If you're going that much then you may want to look into getting a cineworld unlimited card. They are great if you go quite regularly.
