Simple £1,000 mortgage cashback offer from Halifax...now even includes Re-mortgages of ANY amount!!!!
Just done this today in Preston and could not believe the deal on offer. I had seen similar deal (£750) earlier in the year for First time buyers and those moving home but now it's for all mortgages!
Fortunately we only have £19k left so getting this £1,000 is like over 5% cashback. Could not believe it was for mortgages of any amount as never thought it was worth switching before.
There was no specific advertising in branch (?!) but staff member on reception told me about it and then the mortgage adviser sorted it there and then.
Rates from 2.44% but we went for 2.64% with no fees at all.
Deal info...
Take the hassle out of remortgaging and get £1000 back.
So, if you’re thinking of remortgaging to us from another lender, we think you’re making a good move. Not only can we help keep things straightforward with our simple switcher service and dedicated mortgage advisers, but you’ll also get £1000 cashback. Now that’s a change for the better.
Apply between 15th August and 25th September 2016
We'll also pay our own legal fees and we won't charge you for the property assessment
£1000 paid through your conveyancer on completion

Thanks OP. I would however encourage anyone looking to switch their mortgage to very carefully consider all options and use a site such as MSE to help.
Whilst £1000 cashback sounds amazing, in reality depending on circumstances a deal that is £2-3-4-5000 or more cheaper may be possible.
For us if I remortgaged to this today the increased rate would more than offset that cashback and we would be over £1000 worse off after two years, including the cashback, compared to our current fixed rate.
But as you say OP if you have a low balance remaining this is likely to be very hot

Absolutely. Obviously everyone needs to think it through carefully and make sure the deal suits their circumstances...main thing is that those thinking of staying on their standard deal should have a look at what is out there.
As you say this worked a treat for us.

Give them a call and see if they will switch the deal...should be possible before it completes.

On first sight it seems good if you have a very low balance remaining (less than £30K ), as I do so worth further investigation . Expecting Halifax to put a minimum balance on it fairly quickly  . On a " normal " mortgage of £200K -£400K this deal will work out far more expensive than the many deals now widely available .
