Got a taste for this root beer recently in a BBQ restaurant and it's really nice. The ginger beer is one of the nicest I've tasted too and both are good mixers with spirits.
Normally £4.49 and reduced by £1.50 in Tesco at the moment.

IMO A&W's is better tasting like I remember it tasting when McDonalds used to sell it(last place I had it there was Angel Islington a few decades ago) .

I thought A & W is banned from being imported now as it contains something that is against EU regs. Saw this on American Soda a wee while back. Haven't seen it in any local American shops.
I got some A & W in Chinatown that is imported from the Philippines or somewhere around there and maybe has different ingredients.

Never tried the JD honey with root beer.. Might have ago at that.. I do really like the A&W stuff with regular JD tho.. Works so well together.. But only at Xmas cos it's not exactly a cheap combo! Wish the big supermarkets would get into stocking root beer.. Surely there's a market for it..

This stuff is great. Used to get cartons of bottles from Costco. Best Ginger Beer going, a proper brewed drink. Last time I had it, label said brewed in Australia, none of this made under licence rubbish

They did try to have it made under licence in Northern Ireland around 6/7 years ago. It used to be one guy who imported it from Oz based in Northumberland who tried to keep it as a niche product sold via wholesalers and only in Waitrose and Costco, but when the folks back in Oz were promised some serious volume through a specialist they dumped him with a promise of Tesco & Asda coming on board. They tried to then get it brewed in NI using syrup shipped over, but had to change the bottle from stubby to more traditional long neck. That had a huge effect on sales, so they went back to source and stubbies. Price has rocketed since then though.
Anyway, I'll weesht now!

M&S sell a root beer in their soft drinks and cordials section that is pretty good based on my preferences for A&W and Barq's. It's pretty pricey at about £2 a bottle but the taste is pretty good. Sorry I can't remember the name, think it begins with B?

Love Bundy ginger beer. Lovely with golden rum over ice. Also great with Tuaca and a squeeze of lime.
