I used to be on BT til somebody called up, pretending to be me and cloned my SIM, later emptying my bank account. For fear of a repeat I closed my account and they refused to waive my remaining line rental. Awful security, awful customer service. I wouldn't use them if it was free.

Since EE and BT are now one, their network will be the same? Or speed is different?

I asked the question today to a BT chat assistant and they said that all the sim only contracts come with double speed so 60Mbps top speed ( i did get a screenshot of the chat that she confirmed the speed and that it came "as standard"

Got worse speed and reception with BT 4g then I did with TalkTalk 3g, even though they use EE, yet I am in a area where 4g is suppose to be very good.

Tempered to go with this but I heard they don't offer tethering. I'll also talk to someone from BT

They have recently changed policy and do offer tethering as standard, info is on their site.
Fairly certain you have to pony up £4 for the extra speed addon, upto a max of 60 Mb per sec.

Must be an area thing. Coming from Giffgaff which was totally rubbish for me, BT mobile has been perfect.

100% nonsense from who ever said it's double speed, but we'll done for documenting it as they will have to honour it if you took the offer or its false advertising.

usually quidco dont payout if you receive another gift, e.g the vouchers so dont be disheartened if that happens.

Why would BT do a deal for TalkTalk customers?

6 Aug 16#11
you cant include vouchers and quidco in your final price, the deal is £16pm, which is pretty average now. unless something has changed on here recently.

You can include the voucher as that's pretty much guaranteed, it's the quidco you can't include, also you can't have both, is gotta be one or the other, like some one already pointed out^^^up there somewhere.

You do get both, you claim the Amazon voucher and quidco honours the cash back. Lots of people are probably still in effectively free deals like me.

Yep it's an extra £4 a month "With our Extra Speed add-on, experience speeds of up to 60Mbps rather than up to 30Mbps on our standard 4G. That means you can stream video, download apps and upload pictures up to twice as fast*
With EE and my double speed is only ever at 20mb...so guess must be poor in area or been shafted

I've been able to achieve 82mb in Cornwall but lucky to get 8mb in Cheltenham so does vary massively on where you live

Take this contract out, then use the "change my plan" button on My BT, and you can get 20GB for the same £16!

Really, for nothing at all? Seems a bit too good to be true. Interested if someone else could verify this. And I wonder if it would cause the cash back and/or the Amazon voucher to get declined as you're not taking what you originally purchased.

I was declined Quidco for a similar BT mobile deal. The reply from Quidco below
We are writing to you about your cashback claim, as we have now had a response from the retailer.
Unfortunately, on this occasion your claim has been declined because the cashback from your sale will not be paid to us by the retailer. In order to pay us, they have to recognise us as having been the party who referred the sale to them, and in this case they do not.

I've been with them about 3 months and I don't think it's too bad, I get around 37mbps download and 16mbps upload at home which isn't bad as they say their standard 4G is capped at 30mbps.
Also the deal I got was the 20GB of data and £80 amazon vouchers for £20 a month, which is a hell of a lot better than I was paying EE.
That plus they sent me 2 lots of the £80 vouchers which I still haven't spent so it's a win win for me.

yes, your plan then automatically reverts up to the price for non-bt broadband customers.

I'm an existing BT mobile customer. Yesterday I called BT to quit my contract so I could get the EE 16GB p/m for £20 deal. BT were very desperate to keep me and offered me 20GB instead of the 15GB for £16 p/m. I get much better coverage now than when I was on GiffGaff. Of course BT only works out good when you're an existing broadband customer.

Definitely an area thing coverage-wise, I can't get **** on EE at my house but friends in town often have better signal than me on O2.

These posts are coming thick and fast so I am guessing theres self promotion. Read peoples experiences online. You will be lucky to get your Quidco and you wont get your Voucher. I have been waiting 4 months and I am not the only one. You have been warned.

I was just having my daily perusal of HUKD. I usually head over here to spend money on things I don't need, however this one is actually of some use to me. I'm already a BT Infinity customer and have nothing but praise after 15 months of service (including a contract renegotiation). Got my initial TCB within weeks so fully expecting this one to go though as well. Give their CEO an email, I'm sure you'll get some joy with the voucher :sunglasses:
