Bet those that would vote hot based on it not being Halal really don't give a toss about the animal welfare standards. So long as that word isn't sat there on the packaging.
It's almost like people think if the word Halal isn't on the packaging the chickens have been kept in a 5 star hotel with a spa day right before the death.

1kg of chicken legs for £1.39 I wonder how well the chickens are treated with these margins. cheap is not always value for money.

Chicken legs are almost a waste product. For some reason I don't understand, most people prefer chicken breast. So large numbers of chickens are processed just for their breast meat and they need to get rid of the legs. Then the price just depends on how much effort they need to go through to get them on the shelves, as against sending them straight to a biomass composter.
