This is possibly the lowest price for a Premium tyre for 225/40/18 profile tyres!
I have looked around and cannot see them at this price. Its much cheaper than some of their budget tyres too!

fantastic tyres, had them on my golf from new and still plenty of tread after 14k, im usually lucky if i get 10k off the fronts
Need to check if they fit them as they stopped fitting which was a real shame as there one of the few places that look after your alloys when fitting new tyres rather than banging them about, cheap place to buy from even better if they fit them

You like these on your Golf? I had these on my MK7 GTD and it tramped chronically. I was then unfortunate enough to get 19" Bridgestone RE050s on my Golf R that replaced the GTD and they were just as bad. They spoiled the car so much that I ended up spending £600 on a set of Michelin PSS, and the car was transformed.
Bridgestones are hard wearing but very poor on traction and grip (very poor in the damp) compared to Goodyear/Pirelli/Continental/Michelin.

lol nothing worse than an re050 for tramlining, feels like your car is on remote control sometimes. I find the Turanzas grip and handle well enough on a daily run about, not saying you should put them on a high performance vehicle, but the major issue is the tyre roar sounds like you are flying a jet fighter by the time you get up to motorway speeds.

For that money i'd be looking at Goodyear Eagle Asy2, a far better tyre that you can find for £75-80 a piece in 225/40R18 (Asy3 are out now, but cost significantly more)

I hope amazon do the cheap tyres again, Just had my pirelli's fitted yesterday from it. £60 instead of £160 a corner. Wish I'd bought more than 2....

i guess its just what we get used to, my gold td is remapped to almost 200 bhp and i find them brilliant but we are all different  until i try a diff tyre on this car i guess ill never know if anything works better
i have horror stories with most brands tbh which im sure most people have, conti's are good so might try them next depending on price at the time but i certainly wouldnt discount these

You don't get tramping running a 200hp TDI on Bridgestones? is that a MK4 1.9TDI150, MK5 2.0TDI 150PD? if you had the 170/184ps engine you'd be pushing up to 240ps on a remap or decent box.

its a mk7 150 tdi with a dtuk box and pedal box, certainly makes it a bit more spirited, its nothing special compared to whats out there these days but it can surprise a few nonetheless

I had a DTUK box on my GTD, up to 240ps/500Nm - made a huge difference, but my GTD tramped before I even had the box.Never seen the point of the pedal box, puts the throttle on a hair trigger, but once it's half pressed there's nothing beyond. Driving the R is a completely different driving experience - after 7 VW TDIs from new, having to really rev the engine to get the most out of it rather than relying on a big wedge of torque at 2k revs, The R becomes a beast above 5k revs, but if you keep it under 4k revs, it's no quicker than a GTD being driven hard.

must admit the jurys still out on the pedal box but the tuning box is great, i bought the tdi for the mpg but regretting a little now, miss the rev range of a petrol and also the dsg but even with these tyres your not keen on the handling is really really good, maybe a gti next time, the r's just a bit daft at 40+ miles commute per day

I do 20 miles each way on my commute and not shy in opening it up to get up to speed quickly when joining roads etc, still end up with 33-35mpg on fairly uncluttered roads - better than I was hoping for, and much closer to the published figures (% wise) than my GTD ever was. I averaged 48mpg in my GTD.
