Anything bigger than 10mm you should be using an SDS drill.

I have this drill, bought last time it was on sale.
It is generally great all-arounder but one thing it is unable to do efficiently is dense concrete / solid bricks.
You can still drill those materials but in comparison to a corded hammer drill it is 2 minutes to 5 seconds... so if many holes to be drilled, just do the maths :-)

Would have thought that would be pretty obvious to most out there, that a mains electric drill is always going to be far more powerful than a cordless battery one..

The Bosch Pro Blue version isn't much more when it's on offer. Screwfix were doing a managers deal for £89 for 18V and that would be a better but (IMHO).

Yes - good price, but buy from B&Q to get the bigger batteries (it's not a mistake in either advert, they really are different). I've been using mine this weekend, good little drill.

You won't get a much better deal than that on current product.
i don't think you should tell everyone who has a high end makita Milwaukee or dewalt that their drill chuck is the wrong size.

hmmm £68 or £127. can you spot the difference ? for most people on domestic use they don't need the professional one (blue). so it's horses for courses.

Work as a Plumber and have been using one of these with 2x 2ah batteries almost daily for at least 18 months. Really abused it, even using it to mix up small buckets of plaster with a paddle bit. Thousands of screws and 7-10mm holes in brick etc. Couple of hundred holes in steel baths, brackets, uni rail and the like. Used some pretty big hole saws in plaster, particle board and mdf too. It's still going strong surprisingly with no faults!
Thought I'd try one initially after wearing out an expensive Makita one and then having my replacement stolen. Expected it not to last very long, but at £35 a replacement body I was going to be happy replacing it every few months.
To those saying they are drilling holes in brick for 2 mins with this you're being daft, get some better drill bits!!
Looking to replace it with a blue one when it dies, and when I get one of these illusive Screwfix vouchers. Just a stupid image thing really.
