Got this last weekend and it's excellent for the price! Was expecting much less but the quality and colors are great! Hooked a FireStick to it for the bedroom, happy days!

I found it a little tinny as well but not enough to run out and get a soundbar, as its used for gaming
I use gaming headphones but I will add a soundbar and subwoofer at a later stage.
I am still happy with my tv, and believe me I am sick of Samsung and Lg with there global dimming
backlight and crap quality control as some of the tvs weren't even screwed together properly.

I don't like the sound. Find it "tinny".

What's the sound like? I've read a lot of reviews that the sound isn't that great on Blaupunkt TVs. I have a Digihome 49 Full HD with Freeview from the last Black Friday and think the sound on that is great just wondered what Blaupunkt is like as looking to get another TV?
Thanks

That's good to read. I really think the colour reproduction is excellent and the tuners are very sensitive.
I'll order a third one later on in the day - the tv is THAT good -

Don't blame you they are very good, I have had a Samsung before this and had to take it back.
The first one had a gap at the top of the case and the second had bad backlight bleed and motion blur,
very annoying.
if you have to update the tv with the firmware this is what I did:
1) Format usb stick using Fat 32.
2) Put the file directly on to the usb stick and not in any folders and don't rename it.
3) Put the usb stick into the first usb slot (the one nearest the screen as you plug it in)
4) Turn on the tv, a update bar will progress up to 100 and then your done.
If anyone is after this for a PS4 then its great, set the aspect ratio to just scan to get all the screen and set
PS4 to Full RGB output and adjust brightness levels to suit. Use the web browser to get a test image to
calibrate, I used one from neogaf website its call Rgb vs Limited test picture. Hope this helps.
Good luck, wish I had room for another one

Got this tv yesterday, Turned it on stuck on standby.
I had already downloaded the update firmware file from umc and put it on a usb stick, I put the usb stick in and
the tv came on and updated.
This is a known problem with this tv and you can see by the reviews a lot of people have this problem, they
should supply a usb stick with the updated firmware and instructions in the box as it would save
Tesco a lot of time and money in the long run.
Will try my PS4 on it later and and see what its like for ghosting and image quality.

I had the same issue with the first one and returned it for am exchange. No fuss made by tesco at all. the replacement worked and few days later I ordered another which worked too.
I tried doing all the firmware update but it just wouldn't work. I have to say the tv is brilliant for what it is and the colours are a big upgrade from my HD ready Toshiba tv I have had for years.

I got one in this offer a few weeks ago, I've found it really good, very pleased with it. 8.53cm at the deepest near the base. 5.3cm for most of it and it tapers at the edges to 2cm.

Going by the comments here and on Tesco this appears to be a bit of a crapshoot. Some report fantastic image and sound quality, another had died within 3 days! Obviously these supermarket brands are built to a price point and a 43 inch full HD TV for a shade over 150 quid isn't to be scoffed at. Still would be nice to see an objective review from a decent tech site; has anyone found one? Did try Googling but no luck.
Does anyone know what panel is used by UMC in this TV?
Have some heat OP, no matter the reservations this is a cracking price if you are on a limited budget and want to enjoy a widescreen TV.

I bought two of these to take with me back home. I think it is a bargain. The first one I got didn't work and was stuck on standby but it was swiftly replaced by Tesco. I also ordered one just to be one a safe side.
Tv in my room is broken so I may actually order a third on. Initial testing shows it is good but I have to say there is a bit of lag using the remote control and the tv responding.

I've had the Blaupunkt 43" for a couple of months now and it is excellent for the money. Can't speak for the Freeview receiver as I only watch recorded shows on a NowTV box or DVDs, but the picture is good quality, no blur (watched a lot of Olympics).

Made by UMC (Universal Media Corporation) in Slovakia. The brand Blaupunkt is used under licence and doesn't realate to Blaupunkt other than the name.
The £399 panny has always been available at around the price. Been cheaper at AO.com before like £380 or sth
