A quick opinion that may help anyone. I've had a chromebook for a fair while and it's a great device for e-mails, facebook etc etc. I've always had a windows pc for any specific tasks.

Android support is a game changer. Honestly, I think android-based laptops/netbooks/whatever could catch on.

Gmail The offline gmail android app lets me compose e-mails offline to send later and works well.
Evernote One of my favourite apps, the android version just looks better, the font seems a bit bigger.
Games Telltale games titles don't work on my go-to nexus 7 so I've been waiting until I've got a device capable of running them before playing. Thankfully and somewhat unexpectedly my flip is running the games fine in a window. Can also play it full screen but my 'touches' seem to be off a bit.

Let me know if you'd like me to try a specific app, but they all seem to work fine so far.

The screen is fine for me. I don't doubt a higher resolution would be better and that a bigger screen would be better but you don't notice when using the device. As has been posted it would be hard to use in tablet mode without a bezel.

Have you managed to get crouton working on one of these? I've held off so far, because I've read that people have been struggling to make it work. It would be very close to the perfect device for me if linux does work on it.

Anyone had issues with delivery on this? Bought Tuesday with prime next day. Despatched on time. Should have received yesterday but still saying its with the courier (amazon). Amazon have said I've got to wait a few days before they'll send another out. Does that mean the courier has lost it?

Anyone know if a USB to ethernet adapter works on these?

USB to ethernet adapter works on normal Intel based Chromebooks but this has some odd Rockchip ARM type processor?

The USB to ethernet adapters don't work on Andriods with ARM chips so hence my concern.

They are not btw, i've got the HP Chromebook 11 and it handles the daily stuff (e-mail, youtube, twitch, facebook etc) very well. Once the App store is rolled out on all Chromebooks these things will be really popular.

I have been watching these for a while now and they seem to have been slowly creeping up in price! So this looks like a good deal, I think they were £180 at one point but that was before the android apps came to town!
I am always looking at tablets and various convertibles but as soon as you get to the 4gb RAM (or even 2GB) then prices start nearing the £200 mark and there is often some form of gamble on shipping from China
I love Chromebooks so at the very least I end up with another one, but I think the apps and smaller size will make this a nice little addition to my IT collection. Plus its from Amazon so I feel a bit safer if anything goes wrong!

The RK3288 is a cracking SOC.

Such a shame that Rockchip themselves have been poor at supporting software and SDK's for it.
