My 3 sim only contract was coming to an end so I called up 3 asking for an offer. I quoted an offer from EE which I was going to leave them for if they couldn't beat it (see below).
They offered me 30gb data and unlimited mins for £20 pm which I didnt want (the amazon voucher from EE beat 3), he admitted that was the best he could do so I told him I was leaving and asked for a PAC code to keep my number.
I was then transferred to another guy who offered me a rolling contract with a special one time price for me as I've been with 3 for years, 8gb data unlim mins + texts for £13pm. I took this offer.
Note: I have been with 3 for a long time so this is unlikely to be offered to a newer customer. Also you do not get a personal hotspot (no tethering) and NO FEEL AT HOME. So thats a bummer do there is no contract so I can still leave at any point.

Balls to 3, they lost my business when they decided to double the tariff and boot me off the one plan. Loyal customer of theirs for many years. Stuff em.

I think that's standard. I got the same deal earlier in the year after having been with them for one year. But tethering and feel at home are both included in my deal. The only difference is that previously I had a personal hotspot allowance but under the retention deal tethering comes out of the 8gb data limit.

I've been with 3 for 8 years now and never had this offer BUT I always need a new handset after my contract is at its end :disappointed: That's what bumps mines up. Great deal if its a sim only plan that someone needs!

I switched from Vodafone to Three about a month ago but only started using it a few days ago. Coverage and data speeds are absolutely dire! And this is in North London. I was in King's Cross last night in the open air and 4G download speeds were under 4Mbps! Absolutely ridiculous. In fact the first time I tried to post this comment... BAM, signal drops out.
Too late to cancel it now though :disappointed:

3 are idiots, I have 6 months left on a £8 contract, went in and said I want to up it to a £20 contract, told me I had to pay 60 to pay contract off, could understand they'd be getting 480 for moving me to a different one and tying me in for 2 yes, offered to let me start a new one at a discounted rate of £14 and get a £50 amazon voucher...madness, just stuck to a script, left it

I just called Three to see I could get this deal on my wife phone as her contract expired about 3 months ago and still continuing paying the same line retail despite being out of her contract and was informed by their retensions team that this offer is not offered and when referred to this site they said its all false.
samsparrow18 to Rudki
14 Aug 161#16
It's not false. But referring to this site wont help as its not a special offer but a last attempt retention offer. As im not a special customer it can be available to others under the right conditions.

Have your wife request her PAC and then wait to see if 3 fall over themselves to retain your custom by miraculously finding the deal that doesn't exist. Even if you don't like negotiating it doesn't really matter if you are OK to continue as-is - requesting a PAC does not terminate the existing rolling arrangement and if you don't use the PAC within 30days nothing changes and your existing service continues at the same cost and terms.

And yet Three told me (more than once) that even with a minutes limit, nobody was getting 4gb (which I made it clear I was prepared to settle for) for £9, despite how very obviously untrue that was.

took me asking for PAC code twice and writing a letter of complaint to get it. It all depends on who you get. Start off with cancelling then wait for the call from retention.
I do like three - good network with Roaming to countries I visit. I just want unlimited data deal - don't call much.

For the record, the 3 retention deal I got is 15 per month (rolling not contract) for unlimited data, plus 30gb hotspot, unlimited texts and 250 minutes call time. the low call time is enough for my usage. been on this about 5 months. been with 3 about 3 years.

Three is a joke , their "exclusive deals " to long term customer is a load of BS. Was with them for 8 years or so and they offered me "a one time" deal of £20 for basically the one plan which i laughed because they offered the same to a friend who joined three only a year prior. So glad i changed!

I just got the same deal after being on the phone for 30 mins, complaining when she offered me 500mb data, unlimited texts and 200 minutes for £9 a month on a 12 month contract, i said i'd seen better deals online and she put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and offered me 4gb data, unlimited texts and minutes for £9 a month on a 12 month contract... She even told me not to publish my deal anywhere online

+1 here. £13pm Advanced plan. I wonder if it's due to length of service with Three that they put the Advanced plan on instead, or it's just changed over time.. (4+ years with Three now..)

Just came off a 12 month contract with 3.
Asked for my PAC code at the off, said I was going to the Tesco deal. Five minutes later, after getting through to retention's team, 'have a special offer deal just come through for unlim mins/text & 8G on Advanced plan for £13"
Thank you OP, would not have bothered trying until I saw this deal.

posted this on the other thread too but - Just been through the rigmarole of cancelling three after they ended my tariff, the most rude people in the world, over talk you down the phone, don't listen, can confirm they offered me this deal but turned it down and requested a PAC because, A - They lied about their own tariffs being cheapest putting you on the spot to re-sign when research shows the first offer is widely available with added incentives like cashback, B - They deal in pressure selling on the spot, holding out the decent deal until the last minute C - Would rather spend my own time looking over the next 30 days and never have to talk to the muppets again

Totally agree re rudeness - 1st rep I spoke to was horrendous (plus massively uninformed, had no idea re Quidco, kept telling me about 3rd part resellers like CPW despite me correcting him).
2nd line (after asking for PAC) got me the £13pcm AYCE mins/texts & 8GB data. I checked multiple times and they confirmed that it definitely did include tethering and Feel At Home (although I've had issues with data speeds on this it is still pretty decent).
Overall I'm happy with it as a retention deal and making it a monthly contract rather than 12-month commitment gives me flexibility if something better comes along.

Thanks for this. I signed up to the lowest price one month contract with three. As soon, as i got my sim 2 days later, went online, spoke to someone, mentioned this deal and they upgraded me straight away. 8GB, unlimited minutes and texts with tethering and feel at home included! I don't understand how loyal customers who have been with three for years are not getting deals like this. I have been a customer for 2 days and was able to get this lol. It's all just pot luck really! I would suggest that people keep trying!

Currently with Three on AYCE mins/text/data for £23PM sim only which was rolling since last Oct.
But did not fancy Vodafone with their recent great service and the hassle of doing work to get the cashback so asked Three for my PAC.
First man offered £20PM mins/text and 20GB data but essential plan, so no hotspot/feel at home.
Said no and wanted me PAC - got to be firm.
Passed on to a woman who submitted PAC but offered this retention deal, unl mins/text and 8gb data advanced plan, £13PM. This was fine with me because i only really use around 5GB data because i have WiFi at home and work.
Moving to Vodafone wouldnt probably have been wise and im saving £120 over a 12 month period. Also this retention deal is a 30 day rolling contract!
Thanks OP

No go here. Currently getting unlimited mins / texts, 4GB feel at home for £15 a month. Out of contract since last August.
Was offered the same but without feel at home for £10 a month. Wasted 25 minutes and they were adamant that they couldn't do the deal that people here seem to have got. I'm not sure how people seem to get these deals as I play the game and am incredibly polite but they don't seem to play ball.
Think they must know I is black!! Actually received my PAC code now so screw them haha

Told 3 I was leaving due to my particular contract being scrapped.
I was on 600mins, unlimited texts, AYCE data @ £12.90.
The best deal I could get out of them after 30 minutes on the phone quoting other deals from other suppliers was unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, 4gb data for £9.00
I was offered 600mins, unlimited texts and 12gb data for £15 but went for the cheaper one.
