Just got a new HDMI 2 metre cable in local Sainsburys (Straiton, Edinburgh).
Braided for strength and durability, gold plated connectors is a bonus. Reduced from £4.99 to £1.00. seems to be national. They still had 4 of the 2M bending-end ones left in Straiton. Bargain!

I noticed this in Romford store last Sunday. Grabbed 6 of the normal ones and 1 of the bending ones. I did not post it as assumed it is a local clearance. Time to return the one purchased from Poundland - looks quite inferior compared to the Sainsbury's one.

Because it proves that the marketing people the cable makers used in the 1990's were right, if their cables are gold plated the public will believe they must be the best
