Yeah agreed. If they turn up organised enough to have an alarm jammer then they deserve my TV. Most burglars are opportunists.

bore off. No alarm is perfect and nothing will stop a truly determined and fully prepared burglar. This will however stop the opportunists quite ably.

Ordered after a Camelizer price watch and arrived today ,a nice easy to set up bit off kit.
very interesting read, will have a proper look when i get a chance.
surely one way to help avoid issues with the yale alarms is to put up a different bellbox or cover the yale one with a dummy hollow one? just so potential burglars dont know what alarm system you have?

I have one of these cost about 229£ at the time. Very easy to install and happy with it. If it's a choice of my house or the next 5 with no alarm, I'm pretty sure I'm safe. Worth a punt a that price.

I fitted a CCTV system 8 months ago, backed upto a 2td hd for the last 30 days , and also backed up to icloud,
Text/email alert received for movement detection, accessed and viewed from anywhere in the world with net access,
Main reason is for wildlife watching, being out in the sticks , but also doubles as a deterrent.

No, but had an attempted burglary once and a nervous wife since, luckily a dog walker scared the culprits away that time. Since then I'm a self taught security expert

I must ask, are you in the alarm trade?

when we had the windows and doors replaced recently we had laminated glass in the double glazed units, a little bit more expensive but quieter and warmer than standard glass and has the benefit of staying in the frame once smashed.

Yes it's worth the risk. It's far better than having no alarm.
PS. I have locks deadlocks double glazing, not much help if someone smashes through your patio door!

I purchased this recently for about £190, so this is a great price. Nice bit of kit and easy to install too.
We'd just moved into the house and couldn't afford an expensive system at the time, so this will do as a stop gap.
