How can we tell if it is shared or not? Just looking around at others brands.
Sorry found some details hidden away on some of the ones mentioned above.

I've fitted a few of these for friends and family,mainly the screwfix ones. And they all work well.
Just don't be tempted to save a pound or two buying from fleabay or similar, some of these have damaged Apple products, or failed in a unsafe manner.Stick with the recognised suppliers.
Argos have these on, double pack for £14.99. if it's more convenient.

So you know how we are advised to turn off chargers at the plug....do the usb sorry switch off when not in use...ie zero power being used. Sorry im not sure how leccy works in usb sockets with no off switch.

Screw fix one came with instructions and it says that if it detects that no current is being drawn, then it shuts itself off after few seconds or so.
